Midjourney Pricing in 2026: Every Plan, Real Costs and Hidden Fees

Midjourney Basic is $10 a month, Standard is $30, Pro is $60, and Mega is $120. Annual billing takes 20 percent off and charges the full year up front. There is no per-seat price: one account is one person, and a company above $1,000,000 in yearly revenue must be on Pro or Mega to own its images.

You are buying GPU time, not a finished stack of pictures. The plan that fits most working image use is Standard, because that is where unlimited Relax images begin. The default model is V8.2, which became the default on July 24, 2026, and paying for Mega does not make those pictures better.

Basic is a hard hour budget

Basic is the only paid plan with a ceiling on how many images you can make. It includes 3.3 Fast hours, which Midjourney also writes as 200 minutes, and it does not include Relax mode. When those minutes are gone, generation stops until the renewal or until you buy more Fast time. There is no slow queue to fall back on.

Midjourney's GPU table prices an SD image prompt at 0.8 minutes, so that allotment covers 250 prompts, and an HD prompt is 1.3 minutes. A batch of four HD videos is 26 minutes, about seven batches, and each clip is 5 seconds. The hour budget buys short clips, not a finished edit.

Basic also caps how much you can run at once: 3 concurrent Fast image prompts, 1 concurrent Fast video, and a repeat or permutation size of 4. Video on this plan is SD only, so HD tests belong on a higher plan. One month shows the look, and a campaign hits the cap first.

Standard is where the image cap comes off

Standard is the first plan with unlimited Relax images, which is what weekly picture work is paying for. Fast time rises to 15 hours, HD video opens up, image concurrency stays at 3 jobs, and video concurrency rises to 3 Fast jobs. The repeat cap moves from 4 to 10, so one pass can try more variations than Basic allows.

Buy Standard when you can tolerate a queue, because Relax waits run from 0 to 30 minutes, and Midjourney says lighter Relax users wait less. You still spend Fast time when you want speed, and you stop spending it when you are willing to wait.

Permutations, the repeat parameter, HD video, and the legacy Max Upscale are unavailable in Relax, so a burst of variations or an HD clip still burns Fast time. That Fast allowance is 1,125 SD prompts at the ordinary prompt rate, and HD video cannot sit in the unlimited queue on any plan.

Pro is the privacy line and the company line

Pro doubles Standard's Fast time to 30 hours and raises image concurrency to 12 Fast jobs, or 3 in Relax, so a busy session no longer waits on three slots. Video concurrency goes to 6 Fast or 3 Relax, and the repeat cap jumps to 40. Relax video appears here and only at SD, so queued video is possible while HD still spends Fast time.

Midjourney's Stealth page says creations made in public Discord channels stay visible, and privacy means the website, direct messages, or a private server. If you cancel or downgrade, images you already made private stay private. Upgrading does not hide the old public grid by itself, so you have to mark those pieces private one by one.

The other Pro gate is legal, not technical: the terms of service, effective May 27, 2026, say you own what you create to the extent the law allows, with two cuts. Ownership follows the agreement, and a company, or an employee of a company, with more than $1,000,000 a year in revenue must be on Pro or Mega to own the assets. The plan comparison says the same threshold for commercial use.

Under that revenue line, a subscriber on any paid plan can use the images. Over it, Basic and Standard do not confer ownership, no matter how the invoice is split.

Mega buys parallel video, not a better model

Mega adds another block of Fast time on top of Pro, 60 hours in total, with the same Stealth access and the same unlimited Relax images and SD video. The difference that shows up in a workday is video concurrency: 12 Fast video jobs, or 3 in Relax, against Pro's 6 Fast. Image concurrency stays where Pro left it, and the repeat cap stays at 40. Both plans queue up to 10 jobs, extended when a repeat or permutation needs the room.

Skip Mega until video jobs are waiting on each other, because the model is the same V8.2 either way. That Fast pool is 4,500 SD prompts, and Pro's allotment is 2,250. Neither number is a ceiling once Relax is on, because Relax images do not spend that pool.

Turbo spends Fast time twice as fast and can render up to four times faster than Fast, when it is offered. Midjourney's GPU page says Turbo is not supported on V8.1, and the default since July 24, 2026 is V8.2, so check the speed control before you assume that double rate applies.

What changed in the model does change the meter

V8.2 is an aesthetics and personalization update, and it ships the Edit Model, which replaces Omni Reference, character reference, and the Retexture tool. Personalization profiles for this version draw on a larger image pool. V8.1, the default from June 10 to July 23, 2026 after an April 14 release, is described as the fastest model so far, about 4 to 5 times faster than earlier versions, and it added HD images at 2K without a separate upscale.

An Edit Model SD prompt is 1 minute of GPU time, and an Edit Model HD prompt is 2.3 minutes, so the editor spends the meter faster than a plain prompt. Grid upscale in Discord costs nothing, and Creative and Subtle upscales are about 2 minutes.

If the job is a portrait series rather than a campaign system, the shortlist is different, and AI headshot generators is the page for that narrower brief. Longer motion, past a 5-second clip, belongs with AI video generators and the Kling, Runway, and Luma comparison.

Ten people means ten subscriptions

Midjourney does not sell a seat, and the terms allow one user per account and only one account per user. A studio cannot share a Mega login, and one person cannot open two Basics to double the hours. Group billing exists only when an organization needs 50 or more yearly Pro or Mega plans. That arrangement adds no discount beyond the ordinary yearly price, and it refuses seat or admin management, SSO, negotiated terms, and vendor security paperwork.

Under 50 subscriptions there is no single invoice, so each account needs its own billing email on the company domain. Support will not report on those accounts after they are created, which is why Midjourney tells companies to keep their own spreadsheet of names, emails, and account IDs. Nonprofits and schools get no free plan and no special discount. A wider buying question, once image generation is only one line on the stack, sits in AI tools for business.

Ten Standard plans at the $288 annual total come to $2,880 a year, with unlimited Relax images and no Stealth. Ten Pro plans at the $576 annual total come to $5,760 a year, which is what a company over the revenue line has to buy if ten people will generate images they need to own. Checkout defaults to yearly billing, so the charge that hits the card on day one is the annual total, not the monthly sticker, unless someone switches the tab first.

Ideogram, Firefly, and Recraft sell the seat Midjourney will not

The honest alternatives are other image products with a published seat or a real free tier, checked on their own pricing pages on September 23, 2026. Ideogram, Adobe Firefly, and Recraft all publish a seat or a free tier, and Midjourney publishes neither. Ideogram's pricing page lists Plus at $20 a month, or $15 a month when $180 is billed for the year, with 1,000 priority credits. Pro's monthly sticker matches Midjourney Pro, and the annual card is $42 a month, $504 for the year, with 3,500 priority credits. Paid plans add unlimited slow credits, which is the same idea as Relax: instant generations spend the priority pool, and the rest wait.

A priority-credit top-up is listed at $4 on the same subscription. The Team card shows a monthly per-user price beside an annual rate of $20 per user, with a two-user minimum and 1,500 priority credits per user. Ten people on that annual rate are $200 a month, with central billing. Ideogram's docs say the API is a separate bill, and the record is on Ideogram's Toolradar page.

Adobe Firefly's plan page lists a free plan with limited daily generations, then Standard at $9.99 a month with 2,000 generative credits. Pro is $19.99 with 4,000, Pro Plus is $49.99 with 10,000, and Premium is $199.99 with 50,000 credits plus unlimited Firefly video. Every paid plan includes unlimited standard image and vector generations, so the credits are for premium work such as video, audio, and partner models.

Those credits reset each cycle and do not roll over. Premium is priced per license, so ten licenses are $1,999.90 a month. Ten Standard plans, if each person needs one, are $99.90 a month, and the record is on Firefly's Toolradar page.

Recraft's pricing page shows annual rates with a monthly toggle that saves 20 percent, and the figures below are the annual ones. Basic is $10 a month billed annually, $120 for the year, with 1,000 credits, commercial rights, and private generations, so privacy starts on the entry plan. Pro is $16 a month billed annually, $192 for the year, with 2,000 credits and video. Teams is $18 per seat a month billed annually, with 2,000 credits per seat, a shared workspace, and SSO, which is the admin layer Midjourney's group billing refuses.

Prices on that page are exclusive of VAT. Subscription credits reset and do not roll over, while top-up credits never expire and are shared on a Teams workspace. Free is personal use only: images are public, commercial use is off, and the cap is 3 generations per style per day. Ten Teams seats at the annual per-seat rate are $180 a month, and the record is on Recraft's Toolradar page.

Fees that never appear on the monthly sticker

The monthly prices are the small print's victims, because yearly billing is selected by default on the subscribe page. A person who wanted Basic for a month can be charged the $96 year before they notice the tab, which spends a year of budget on a test. Unused Fast time from the subscription does not roll over, on a monthly plan or a yearly one.

Bought Fast hours are a second clock: they cost the rate in the table, they expire after 60 days, they require an active subscription, and they are non-refundable. A lapsed plan freezes the extra hours with it, and they come back only if you renew before those 60 days run out. Rating images can earn Fast time on every plan, and Midjourney does not print a minutes-per-rating rate, so that bonus is not a budget you can plan around.

The terms also ban automated tools and resale, so this subscription is not an API you can call from an app. Ownership survives a cancellation, but a company over the revenue line that stayed on Standard still does not own those assets, and the fix is Pro or Mega. Assistants are a different purchase, which is why ChatGPT alternatives will not answer an image bill.

Which plan is worth paying for

For one person learning the look, pay for one month of Basic, then cancel or move up. That Fast-minute budget will show you V8.2, and it will not carry a client project. There is no free tier on the plan comparison to soften the test, so the trial month still has a charge.

For ongoing stills, buy Standard, because Relax is the feature you are paying the jump for. Move to Pro when you need Stealth, when you would rather queue SD video than spend Fast time on HD, or when the company revenue line makes ownership depend on it. Move to Mega when 12 concurrent Fast videos are the bottleneck you can name, because headroom you cannot describe is an idle subscription.

For a team, price ten accounts, not one seat. Bulk billing does not start until 50 yearly Pro or Mega plans, and it does not get cheaper when it does. If central billing matters more than Midjourney's look, Ideogram Team or Recraft Teams is the contract that has seats. Firefly is the contract when unlimited standard images inside Adobe matter more than either of those seats.

At the entry paid step, they cluster, and Midjourney's entry plan has no Relax. Ideogram Plus is $15 a month on the annual plan, or the higher month-to-month sticker, with unlimited slow credits. Firefly Standard is $9.99 a month with unlimited standard images. Recraft's annual Basic matches the Midjourney entry sticker and adds commercial rights that Midjourney Basic also grants below the revenue line.

The gap opens at ten people, where Midjourney is ten invoices. Ideogram Team is $200 a month on the annual per-user rate, and Recraft Teams is $180 a month for ten seats. Firefly Premium is $199.99 per license if that license is the team plan you need.
