CapCut Pricing 2026: Free, Pro, Ultra and Teams Plans
CapCut pricing in 2026: Pro is $19.99 a month or $179.99 a year, Ultra $79 a month or $900 a year, Teams from $12.49 per seat. What the AI credits buy.

CapCut Pro costs $19.99 a month on monthly billing or $179.99 a year on yearly billing, which works out to $15 a month, read on CapCut's pricing page on October 19, 2026. Ultra is $79 a month or $900 a year, Teams starts at $12.49 per seat a month for two seats, and the Free plan costs nothing. The real difference between the paid plans is the AI credit allowance, not the editor.
That is the part most CapCut price lists skip. Pro and Ultra share the same editing features, the same premium templates and the same 1 TB of cloud storage, and what you pay extra for on Ultra is a credit allowance roughly seven times larger. If you edit your own footage and rarely generate video from a prompt, Pro is the ceiling you need, and the free tier may be enough.
Toolradar data: CapCut ranks #2 among the 49 video editing tools with 20 or more compare-page visits on Toolradar, and it is listed as an alternative to 26 other tools, as of October 2026 (source: CapCut on Toolradar). Buyers line it up against Descript, VEED and the desktop editors, so this page puts CapCut's plans next to theirs.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Yearly billing | AI credits per month | Storage | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 200 one-time welcome credits | Not listed | Basic editing tools, free templates |
| Pro | $19.99 | $179.99 a year | 1,200 | 1 TB | All premium templates and Pro features, 4K/60fps export, credit purchases |
| Ultra | $79 | $900 a year | 8,645 | 1 TB | Everything in Pro, plus exclusive AI features |
| Teams (2 seats) | $12.49 per seat | $107.50 per seat a year | 1,200 per seat | 1 TB | Pro features for every seat, brand kit |

How much does CapCut Pro cost?
Pro's two prices in the table above force one decision: whether you will still be editing in month eight. Yearly billing saves $59.89, our arithmetic on the two printed prices: twelve months of the monthly plan come to $239.88, so the annual plan is 25% cheaper.
What the money buys, according to CapCut's help center, is the end of export restrictions. Free users can preview premium templates, effects, fonts, transitions and AI tools, but the export prompt article says a project that uses any of them cannot be exported without an active Pro subscription. The Pro purchase article adds 4K and 60fps export and watermark removal to the list of Pro-only settings.
Pro also brings a monthly AI credit allowance, the right to buy extra credits and 1 TB of cloud storage. CapCut's card states that the allowance covers up to 240 seconds of 720p video or 600 seconds of 480p video with its Seedance 2.0 Mini model. That works out to about 8 cents per second of 720p generated video at the monthly price, before you spend a single credit on anything else.
The one condition worth knowing before you subscribe: CapCut says Pro is account-based. A plan bought on the web unlocks Pro on desktop and mobile too, so there is no reason to pay twice for different devices.
Ultra is a credit plan, not a better editor
Ultra's feature list is "everything in Pro, plus exclusive AI features." The headline change is 8,645 monthly AI credits, which CapCut converts into up to 1,700 seconds of 720p or 4,300 seconds of 480p video with Seedance 2.0 Mini.
Ultra costs 3.95 times as much as Pro and carries 7.2 times the credits. Per 1,000 credits, monthly Pro works out to $16.66 and monthly Ultra to $9.14, our arithmetic on the printed prices. On yearly billing the gap is narrower: $12.50 per 1,000 credits on Pro against $8.68 on Ultra.
The yearly discount is also thin on this tier. Twelve months of monthly Ultra cost $948, so the annual plan saves only $48, about 5%. That makes monthly Ultra the sensible way to buy a single heavy month, for example a campaign that needs dozens of generated clips, before you drop back to Pro.
Who should buy it? A creator who generates several minutes of AI video every week. At 720p, Pro's allowance runs out after four minutes of generation; Ultra's runs to about 28 minutes. If generation is your main job rather than an occasional effect, compare the per-second rates on our Kling AI pricing and Runway pricing pages too, because dedicated generators sell the same output on their own meters.
Teams can cost less per person than Pro
Teams is priced per seat, and the two-seat rates in the table above already undercut a single Pro subscription, person for person. Each seat gets Pro features and the same monthly credit allowance as a Pro subscriber, plus access to a shared brand kit, with 1 TB of storage on the plan.
Two people on Teams pay $24.98 a month, against $39.98 for two separate Pro subscriptions, our arithmetic on the printed prices. On yearly billing, two Teams seats cost $215 against $359.98 for two Pro plans. On these reference prices, a pair of editors gets the same Pro features and the same per-person credits for less, plus the brand kit Pro lacks.
The per-seat price moves with the seat count. On monthly billing CapCut's selector shows $12 per seat for 5 or 7 seats and $20 per seat for 10 or 30 seats, so a large team can pay more per person than a small one. The page also carries a "Sign in to save up to 80% on Teams" banner, which means the price your account sees may differ. Get the quote for your exact seat count at checkout before you budget for it.
What the Free plan includes
The Free plan gives you the basic editing tools and the free templates, and CapCut adds 200 welcome credits when you sign up. Those credits are a one-time bonus, not a monthly allowance, so they cover a short test of the AI video tools and nothing more.
Free exports can be watermark-free, as long as you avoid premium assets. CapCut's watermark article says projects built in the standard editor with your own clips, music and text export cleanly, while some templates add a CapCut ending clip you can delete from the timeline. Premium templates, effects and stock elements are the part that needs Pro.
That makes Free a real plan for a hobbyist who cuts phone footage for social posts. It stops being enough the moment you want 4K, a premium template or a regular supply of AI credits. If you only need a no-cost tool, our best free AI video makers list compares what other free tiers allow.
Is there a CapCut free trial?
Yes, for eligible new users. CapCut's free trial article describes a 7-day Pro trial with full access to Pro features, including 4K/60fps export, no watermark, premium templates and AI tools with subscription credits.
The trial needs a payment method, and the account is charged automatically when the 7 days end unless you cancel. It is offered only to accounts that never had Pro, including past trials, and only in supported regions. On mobile, the trial and the subscription run through the App Store or Google Play, so cancellation happens in your phone's subscription settings, not inside CapCut.
Where the old Standard plan went
Many 2025 price guides list a CapCut Standard plan near $9.99 a month. CapCut's pricing page in October 2026 shows four plans, Free, Pro, Ultra and Teams, and no Standard tier. If you search for the cheapest paid CapCut plan today, it is Teams at two seats, then Pro.
Mobile buyers should also expect a different price path. CapCut's Pro sign-up article says mobile subscriptions are billed and managed through Apple or Google, and that the web is the only place to compare all plans side by side and pay by card or PayPal. Regional offers and student discounts appear on the web plan page when they apply.
What AI credits are for
Credits pay for the AI features, and Pro does not. CapCut's credits article describes credits as a pay-per-use currency for tools such as AI image generation, script-to-video and premium text-to-speech, while the subscription unlocks editing tools, 4K export, cloud storage and watermark-free output.
Three rules follow from that article. Credits cannot be used to pay for Pro, Teams or storage upgrades. They cannot be converted to cash or moved between accounts. And the pricing page lists "Buy credits" on every paid plan without printing a pack price, so the cost of extra credits only shows inside your account.
CapCut's video model rates are printed as introductory prices. Seedance 2.5 starts at $0.12 per second on Pro and Teams and $0.18 per second on Ultra, and Seedance 2.0 Mini at 480p starts at $0.007 or $0.009 per second, all marked "first month." Budget on the monthly credit allowance rather than those rates, because they are not presented as the ongoing price.
CapCut vs Descript vs VEED on yearly billing
Comparing like with like means yearly prices, because that is the default on all three pricing pages. CapCut Pro on its annual plan is the yearly figure in the table below. Descript's pricing page shows Hobbyist at $16 per person a month billed yearly and Creator at $24, and VEED's pricing page shows Creator at $10 and Pro at $20 per user a month billed annually, all read October 19, 2026.
| Plan, yearly billing | Price per month | AI allowance | Export |
|---|---|---|---|
| CapCut Pro | $15 | Pro credit allowance, monthly | 4K/60fps, no watermark |
| Descript Hobbyist | $16 per person | 10 media hours, 400 AI credits a month | 1080p, watermark-free |
| Descript Creator | $24 per person | 30 media hours, 800 AI credits a month | 4K, watermark-free |
| VEED Creator | $10 per user | 6,000 credits | 1080p, no watermark |
| VEED Pro | $20 per user | 18,000 credits | 4K, 50 GB storage |
Credits are not comparable across vendors: each company prices its own AI features in its own unit, so 6,000 VEED credits do not buy five times the output of CapCut Pro's monthly allowance. Compare what you will export, not the credit count.
On that basis, CapCut Pro is the cheapest yearly route to 4K export among these five plans, and its 1 TB of storage is twenty times VEED Pro's 50 GB. Descript is the better buy when the work starts from a transcript, a podcast or a talking head, and our Descript pricing breakdown covers its media-hour meter. VEED's $10 Creator plan is cheaper than CapCut Pro if 1080p is enough. Readers leaving Descript on cost will find more options in cheaper Descript alternatives.
Which CapCut plan to buy
Match the plan to the job, not the feature list:
- Phone edits for social, own footage only: Free, as long as you stay out of premium templates.
- Weekly creator who wants 4K, premium templates and some AI: Pro on yearly billing.
- Two or more editors: Teams, after checking the per-seat price for your exact seat count.
- Several minutes of generated video every week: Ultra, monthly first, because yearly saves only 5%.
The trap to avoid is buying Ultra for the editor. Every editing feature in Ultra is already in Pro, so the extra $59.01 a month on monthly billing buys credits and the unnamed exclusive AI features, nothing else. If your bottleneck is clipping long videos into shorts, a dedicated tool may serve better: see our OpusClip review and the wider field in best AI video editors. For captions alone, our best AI subtitle generators list compares cheaper options, and the creator stack sits in best AI tools for video creators.
How we checked these prices
Louis Corneloup, founder of Dupple and Toolradar, prepared this page for people choosing a CapCut plan. Plan prices, credit allowances, storage and Seedance rates were read on CapCut's pricing page on October 19, 2026, in USD. Plan rules come from CapCut's help center articles on joining Pro, the free trial, credits and watermarks. Descript and VEED prices come from their own pricing pages the same day. The compare-page and alternatives figures come from Toolradar's CapCut page, October 2026, and the video editing ranking evaluates 156 tools. Publishing rules sit on the AIpresso about page. Totals and per-unit figures are our arithmetic on the printed prices.
FAQ
How much is CapCut Pro per month in 2026?
CapCut Pro is $19.99 a month on monthly billing. On yearly billing it is $179.99 a year, which works out to $15 a month. Both prices were read on CapCut's pricing page on October 19, 2026, and CapCut shows the final price, taxes and offers for your account after sign-in.
Is CapCut free to use?
Yes. The Free plan includes basic editing tools, free templates and 200 one-time welcome credits. Videos built in the standard editor with your own clips can export without a watermark; premium templates, effects, 4K/60fps export and a monthly AI credit allowance need Pro.
What is the difference between CapCut Pro and Ultra?
Ultra includes everything in Pro plus exclusive AI features and 8,645 monthly AI credits, about 7.2 times Pro's allowance. CapCut says that covers up to 1,700 seconds of 720p video with Seedance 2.0 Mini, against 240 seconds on Pro. Ultra costs $79 a month or $900 a year, so it only pays off for heavy AI video generation.
Does CapCut still have a Standard plan?
Not on its pricing page. In October 2026 CapCut lists Free, Pro, Ultra and Teams, with no Standard tier. Older guides quoting a Standard plan near $9.99 a month describe a lineup CapCut no longer shows on the web.
How much does CapCut Teams cost?
Teams is priced per seat: $12.49 per seat a month for two seats on monthly billing, or $107.50 per seat a year on yearly billing. Each seat gets Pro features and 1,200 AI credits a month, plus a shared brand kit. The selector shows $12 per seat for 5 or 7 seats and $20 per seat for 10 or 30 seats on monthly billing.
Is CapCut cheaper than Descript?
On yearly billing, yes at the entry point: CapCut Pro costs less per month than the $16 per person for Descript Hobbyist, and CapCut Pro exports in 4K where Hobbyist stops at 1080p. Descript includes 10 media hours and a transcript-based editor, which matters more than price for podcasts and talking-head video.
Can I use CapCut credits to pay for Pro?
No. CapCut's help center says credits pay only for AI features such as image generation, script-to-video and premium text-to-speech. They cannot be applied to Pro, Teams or storage upgrades, cannot be converted to cash and cannot be moved to another account.
