Gamma Pricing 2026: Free Credits, Plus, Pro and Ultra

Gamma pricing in 2026: Plus is $9 a seat a month billed yearly, Pro $18, Ultra $90, and Free gives 400 credits once. What a credit buys, seat billing and rollover.

Gamma Pricing 2026: Free Credits, Plus, Pro and Ultra

Gamma Plus costs $9 per seat a month billed annually ($108 a year) for 1,000 monthly credits, read on Gamma's pricing page in October 2026. Pro is $18 a seat a month on the same annual basis for 4,000 credits, and Ultra is $90 for 20,000. Free gives 400 credits once, with no monthly refill. Monthly billing sits behind the page's Pay monthly toggle and, by Gamma's own FAQ, costs up to 28% more.

The number that matters is not the sticker but the credit, because every AI action in Gamma spends a variable amount depending on the model and the length of the generation. A heavy deck month on Plus can run through the allowance by the 20th, while a Pro seat holds a reserve of two months' worth. This page lays out what each plan buys, how seats are billed, and when Canva or Pitch is the cheaper deck tool.

Toolradar data: on the presentation design ranking we publish, which evaluated 68 tools and was updated on October 14, 2026, Gamma is the second most cross-shopped product in the category, listed as an alternative to 45 other tools. Buyers compare it with everything, so the cost comparison below is the one they ask for. The product record is on Gamma's Toolradar page, and the wider field sits in our best AI presentation makers guide.

What a Gamma credit buys, and why it varies

A credit is Gamma's unit for AI work: generating a deck, rewriting a card, creating an image, or calling the API. Gamma's FAQ says the amount an action uses "can vary based on what you're doing, which AI model is used, and the length or complexity of the generation", so there is no fixed price per slide. The models behind it include Claude, ChatGPT with DALL-E, Gemini, Flux and Recraft, and picking a premium image model costs more credits than a standard one.

Unused credits roll over up to twice the monthly amount, which is unusual among AI tools. A Plus seat can hold 2,000 credits, a Pro seat 8,000, so a quiet month builds a cushion for a busy one. Paid users can also buy additional credits, and Free users can only earn more by inviting friends. If you want a rough feel for what the underlying models cost on their own, our pages on ChatGPT pricing, Claude pricing and Gemini pricing show the direct subscriptions Gamma wraps.

Free is a one-time budget, not a free plan

Free gives 400 credits at signup and never tops them up. You can create up to 10 slides per prompt, import a PDF or a PowerPoint, and export to PDF, PPTX, PNG or Google Slides, with Gamma's branding on the output. That is enough to generate a handful of decks and judge the layouts, and it is a real workspace rather than a timed trial.

Treat Free as a sample, because the credits only move in one direction. Once they are spent, the choice is referrals or Plus. For a student or an occasional presenter who makes one deck a quarter, the sample may last a long time; for anyone presenting weekly it is a fortnight. If you want a no-cost tool you can keep using, the deck builders in our best AI tools for business list include options with recurring free allowances.

Plus is the plan for one person who presents often

Plus is where the branding comes off and the credits refill: 1,000 a month, prompts of up to 100 slides, and the advanced AI image models. On annual billing it is $108 a year for one seat, which is the cheapest way to get a clean export without a Gamma footer.

Buy Plus if you make decks alone and send them as files. The missing pieces are team features: no custom branding beyond removing Gamma's, no analytics on who viewed what, no custom domain for a hosted page, and no API. A consultant who ships eight decks a month at a few dozen credits each will not touch the ceiling, and the rollover means the balance can sit at 2,000 by the time a big proposal lands. Someone who regenerates images repeatedly on premium models will see the balance fall faster than the slide count suggests.

Pro adds the API, analytics and four times the credits

Pro moves to 4,000 credits a month, premium image models, custom branding, detailed analytics and advanced sharing, up to 10 custom domains for published sites, and API access that uses the same credit pool. That is the plan for someone who publishes Gamma pages under their own domain or wires deck generation into another tool through Zapier, Make or the API.

The jump from Plus to Pro doubles the price and quadruples the credits, so the per-credit cost falls for anyone who actually uses them. The analytics are the feature sales teams pay for: knowing which slides a prospect read is worth more than the image models, and it is the same logic behind the agent tools in our best AI agents guide. A team of four on Pro pays $72 a month on annual billing, $864 a year, because Gamma bills every active member in the workspace. The other AI image lanes are priced in our best AI image generators guide if images rather than slides are the bottleneck.

Ultra, Business and Enterprise are three different answers to "more"

Ultra is for volume: 20,000 credits a month, the most advanced text, image and video models, 100 custom domains and early access to new features, at $1,080 a seat a year. It is a production plan for an agency generating decks and sites all day, not a status upgrade, and it costs five times Pro for five times the credits.

Business is the team answer. Gamma's pricing FAQ puts it at 10,000 credits per seat a month, its help center lists it at $40 per member a month billed annually, and it adds SSO, a locked training opt-out so member data never trains models, SOC 2 documentation and centralised billing. Enterprise is sold on an annual agreement with SCIM provisioning, audit logs, workspace-wide AI instructions, admin and guest controls and invoiced billing, with credits either per seat, pooled, or both. Pick Business when IT requires SSO, and Enterprise when procurement requires an invoice.

Seat billing is where the bill surprises people

Every paid plan is per member. Gamma's help center explains that a $20 plan with two users bills $40, that a member added mid-cycle is charged a prorated amount immediately, and that removing a member does not lower the bill until you also reduce the seat count under Manage seats. On Team and Business plans, seats are bought upfront and members are invited up to that number.

Scenario Plan Monthly cost, annual billing Credits available
Solo presenter Plus $9 1,000 a month, up to 2,000 banked
Freelancer with a client site Pro $18 4,000 a month, up to 8,000 banked
Agency team of 4 Pro $72 16,000 a month across the workspace
Studio producing all day Ultra $90 per seat 20,000 a month per seat

Two more rules shape the cost. Refunds are only available within the first 3 days of subscribing, provided credit usage has not exceeded the plan's threshold, and cancelling keeps access until the end of the paid period before the workspace drops to Free. Annual plans are a single upfront payment for 12 months.

How Canva and Pitch price the same deck

Canva is the mass-market alternative, reviewed on its own Toolradar page, and on Canva's pricing page, read in October 2026, Pro is $144 a year for one person, Business $250 a year per person, and Free costs nothing with up to 20 AI uses. Canva meters AI through a shared allowance rather than named credits, with Pro at roughly ten times the Free allowance and an AI Pass add-on at extra cost. Pitch, the deck-first rival, prices in euros on its pricing page: Plus is €10 a month paid yearly with 500 AI credits a month, Team €15 and Business €20, and Free comes with 100 AI credits that do not renew.

Tool Entry paid plan, yearly AI allowance Free plan
Gamma Plus, $108 a year 1,000 credits a month, rollover to 2,000 400 credits once
Canva Pro, $144 a year Shared AI allowance, about 10x Free Up to 20 AI uses
Pitch Plus, €10 a month, priced in euros 500 credits a month 100 credits once

Gamma is the cheapest of the three at the entry step, and the only one whose credits bank. Canva wins when the deck is one asset among social posts, print and video, because the same subscription covers all of it. Pitch wins for teams that live in the deck and want engagement links. Which Gamma plan to pay for

Most individuals should start on Free, spend the 400 credits on two or three real decks, and move to Plus the moment they need a clean export. Pro is the plan for anyone publishing to a custom domain, using the API or needing analytics, and it is also the better buy for heavy users because the credits per dollar are better than on Plus. Ultra and Business are decisions about volume and compliance, not about features most presenters will notice.

Pay annually unless you are testing, because Gamma's own figure for the saving is up to 28%, and the credits refill on the same monthly schedule either way. The one caution is seats: audit who is in the workspace before renewal, because an invited collaborator who never opens Gamma still counts.

How we checked these prices

Louis Corneloup, founder of Dupple and Toolradar, prepared this breakdown for people choosing a Gamma plan. We read Gamma's pricing page, its per-member billing article, its business options article and its Enterprise article in October 2026. Canva and Pitch figures come from each vendor's pricing page the same month. The 68 tools and 45 alternatives figures come from Toolradar's live presentation design ranking. Publishing rules sit on the AIpresso about page.

FAQ

How much does Gamma cost in 2026?

Plus is $9 per seat a month billed annually, Pro is $18 and Ultra is $90, which comes to $108, $216 and $1,080 a year for one seat. Monthly billing is available at a higher rate behind the pricing page's Pay monthly toggle, with annual billing saving up to 28%. Free costs nothing and includes 400 credits that do not refill. These are the figures on Gamma's pricing page in October 2026.

Is Gamma free to use?

Yes, with a one-time budget. The Free plan gives 400 credits at signup, up to 10 slides per prompt, import from PDF and PPTX, and exports to PDF, PPTX, PNG and Google Slides with Gamma branding. The credits never refill, so Free lasts as long as those credits do, plus whatever you earn by referring friends.

What are Gamma credits and do they roll over?

Credits pay for every AI action, and the cost of an action depends on the model used and the length of the generation, so Gamma does not publish a per-slide rate. Paid plans refill monthly: 1,000 on Plus, 4,000 on Pro, 20,000 on Ultra and 10,000 per seat on Business. Unused credits roll over up to twice the monthly amount, so a Plus seat can bank 2,000, and paid users can buy more.

Does Gamma charge per user?

Yes. Per-member billing applies to all paid plans, so a workspace with three members on Pro pays three Pro seats. A member added mid-cycle is charged a prorated amount at once, and removing someone from the workspace does not reduce the bill until the seat count is lowered in settings. Team and Business seats are bought upfront.

Is Gamma cheaper than Canva?

At the entry step, yes. Gamma Plus is $108 a year against Canva Pro at $144, and Gamma's credits roll over while Canva works from a shared AI allowance. Canva is the better value if you also need social graphics, print and video from one subscription, because Gamma only makes decks, documents, sites and social posts.

Can I get a refund from Gamma?

Only within the first 3 days of subscribing, and only if credit usage has stayed under the plan's threshold. After that, cancelling keeps your paid features and credits until the end of the billing period, then the workspace moves to Free.

Which Gamma plan includes the API?

Pro and above. API access is listed on Pro alongside custom branding, analytics and 10 custom domains, and API calls draw from the same credit pool as the editor. Plus does not include it, so a Zapier or Make workflow that generates decks needs at least one Pro seat.
