Jasper vs Copy.ai (2026): Pricing and Who Each One Suits

Jasper vs Copy.ai in 2026: Copy.ai Chat is $29/mo for 5 seats, Jasper Pro is $69/mo for one seat. Team costs, the six-seat cliff and trial terms compared.

Jasper vs Copy.ai (2026): Pricing and Who Each One Suits

Copy.ai is the better buy for most small teams in 2026: its Chat plan is $29/mo on monthly billing and covers 5 seats, with unlimited words and models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini. Jasper is the better buy for one marketer who needs on-brand output: Pro is $69/mo for a single seat on monthly billing, or $59/mo billed yearly, and adds brand voices, company knowledge and marketing agents.

The split is not about writing quality. It is about who pays and for what. Copy.ai sells a cheap shared chat workspace and then jumps to sales and marketing automation contracts, while Jasper sells a marketing content system priced per seat, with team features held back for its custom Business plan. Prices were read on Jasper's pricing page and Copy.ai's pricing page on 21 October 2026.

Toolradar data: in Toolradar's AI writing category of 139 tools, Jasper is listed as an alternative to 64 other tools and Copy.ai to 57, ranking #2 and #3 on that measure, as of October 2026 (Jasper, Copy.ai, side by side). In other words, buyers who shortlist one usually see the other. The single-product view is in our Jasper review, and the wider field sits in best AI writing tools.

What each one costs a solo marketer and a five-person team

The cheapest way to compare is a year of use, because both vendors push annual billing. The yearly figures below are our arithmetic: the printed monthly price times 12, except where the vendor prints the annual charge itself.

Setup Jasper Copy.ai
1 person, monthly billing, one year $828 (Pro, 12 months) $348 (Chat, 12 months)
1 person, annual billing, one year $708 (Pro at the yearly rate) $288 (Chat, as printed)
5 people, annual billing, one year Pro stops at 1 seat, so this is a Business quote The same Chat plan covers all five
6 to 75 people Business quote Growth, $12,000 a year

For one person, Copy.ai costs less than half of Jasper on either billing basis. For five people the gap is wider still, because Copy.ai's single Chat subscription already holds five seats, which works out to under $5 per person a month on annual billing. Jasper's help center says plainly that Pro is limited to 1 seat and that Business plans add users by the seats you buy, so a team on Jasper is a sales conversation from the second user.

The annual discounts are similar in size. Jasper's page advertises roughly 20% off for yearly billing, and Copy.ai's toggle advertises a 20% saving. Both lock you in: Jasper's annual plan terms give a 7-day refund window and then no refunds for unused time, and Copy.ai's pricing FAQ says you cannot switch from yearly to monthly without contacting support.

The cliff after five seats

Copy.ai's cheap entry hides a steep second step. The plan after Chat is Growth, which includes 75 seats and 20,000 workflow credits a month for $1,000 a month, billed $12,000 a year. Expansion and Scale follow at $2,000 and $3,000 a month, also billed annually. A sixth Copy.ai user therefore moves the bill from the Chat plan's annual charge to $12,000 a year, more than 40 times the cost for one more login.

That price buys a different product. Growth and the tiers above it are built around Workflows, Copy.ai's chained AI actions for jobs like account plans or SEO articles, metered in credits. Its credits guide says credits reset each month, do not roll over, and are shared across the whole workspace rather than per user. New accounts get 200 bonus credits that never expire, which is enough to try a workflow but not to run one in production.

Jasper has no published second step. Business is custom pricing, and its pricing FAQ says usage-based features such as the GEO Hub and agents consume credits on Business, alongside seat pricing. Standard writing in Chat and Canvas does not drive credit use. So a growing Jasper team should budget seats plus a credit allocation, and get both in writing before signing.

What Jasper gives you for the money

Jasper's pitch is consistency for marketing teams. Pro includes the Canvas workspace for content creation, agents for core marketing workflows, 2 brand voices, 5 multi-modal knowledge assets and 3 audiences, plus content in over 30 languages. Brand Voice analyses your existing content and applies tone and formatting rules, and knowledge assets let you upload text, images, video, audio or data for Jasper to reference.

That bundle matters most to one marketer running several brands or a strict style guide. A freelance content lead can keep two clients' voices separate without rewriting prompts every morning. The limits show up quickly, though: a third client means a third voice, which Pro does not include, and the style guide feature and visual guidelines are Business-only.

Business unlocks the team layer. It adds unlimited brand voices, knowledge and audiences, a no-code builder for custom agents, Jasper Grid for content at scale, API access, admin controls and groups, and SSO over SAML 2.0 with Okta, Azure AD and Google Workspace. Every one of those is behind a quote, which is reasonable for a marketing department and frustrating for a five-person startup that only wants shared brand voices.

What Copy.ai gives you for the money

Copy.ai's Chat plan is a shared, model-agnostic chat workspace. It includes 5 seats, unlimited words, unlimited chat projects, and access to models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini in one interface. Its help center describes a prompt library organised by task, brand voice settings, an Infobase for persistent context, and team spaces where colleagues can see and reuse each other's chats.

For a small team, that is most of what a shared ChatGPT or Claude workspace would give, for one flat fee. The trade-off is depth. Chat has no marketing knowledge layer comparable to Jasper's audiences and knowledge assets, and the automation Copy.ai now leads with on its homepage, which it calls GTM AI for sales and marketing, lives in Workflows on Growth and the tiers above it.

If your team mostly drafts emails, posts and briefs in a chat window, compare Chat with a general assistant before buying either: our Claude vs ChatGPT comparison, ChatGPT pricing and Claude pricing guides show what a single-model subscription costs.

Free trial, refunds and cancelling

The two vendors handle trying before buying very differently, and this is where many buyers get caught.

Jasper offers a 7-day free trial of any plan on its pricing page, with every feature of that plan. It requires a credit card, and the trial rolls into a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel. After a charge, Jasper's cancellation guide gives a 7-day money-back window by email, and it lets you pause a plan for 30, 60 or 90 days instead of cancelling.

Copy.ai has no free plan. Its pricing FAQ says it had to sunset the free plan and that new users must buy a paid plan. Its refund policy is a 5-day money-back guarantee from the initial purchase, and it excludes any month in which you already used the account. So test Copy.ai inside those five days, and set a calendar reminder before Jasper's trial ends.

Who should pick Jasper, and who should pick Copy.ai?

Pick Jasper if one person owns content for a brand, or for two, and the job is keeping every asset on voice. Brand voices, knowledge assets and audiences are built into Pro, and the 7-day trial lets you load your own material before paying. Pick Jasper Business if a marketing department needs SSO, admin controls and custom agents, and can negotiate a quote.

Pick Copy.ai if a team of up to five wants one shared AI workspace at the lowest flat price, with a choice of models. Chat is the cheaper plan on this page by a wide margin for small teams. Pick Copy.ai Growth only if you have real workflow volume across sales and marketing, because that tier is priced for automation programs, not for writers.

Pick neither if you need a writing assistant for one person on a tight budget. A general chat subscription or one of the tools in our AI writing roundup will cost less, and our guide on how to write AI prompts closes much of the quality gap.

How we compared

We read Jasper's pricing page and four Jasper help center articles (free trial, annual plans, adding team members, cancellation), plus Copy.ai's pricing page and its help center articles on pricing questions, refunds and workflow credits, on 21 October 2026. Yearly totals are the vendors' printed monthly prices times 12, except where Copy.ai prints the annual charge. Per-person figures divide a plan's price by its included seats. The 139-tool category and cross-shop counts are Toolradar's catalog as of October 2026, and the $20 median is AIpresso's subscription price snapshot from 10 October 2026.

AIpresso data: the audience file refreshed October 25, 2026 shows 26,000+ subscribers and a 31% average open rate. Louis Corneloup, founder of Toolradar and Dupple, edited the comparison for readers choosing one AI writing subscription. FAQ

Is Jasper or Copy.ai better in 2026?

Copy.ai is better for small teams on a budget, because one Chat subscription covers 5 seats for less than half the price of a single Jasper Pro seat. Jasper is better for a marketer who needs strict brand consistency, because Pro includes brand voices, knowledge assets and audiences out of the box. Past five users, Jasper Business is a custom quote and Copy.ai Growth is $1,000 a month billed annually.

How much does Jasper cost compared with Copy.ai?

Jasper Pro is $69 per seat a month on monthly billing, or $59 a month billed yearly, which is $708 a year by our arithmetic. Copy.ai Chat is $29 a month on monthly billing, or $24 a month billed at $288 a year. Jasper's Business plan and Copy.ai's Enterprise plan are custom pricing, and Copy.ai's Growth, Expansion and Scale plans are $1,000, $2,000 and $3,000 a month billed annually. Prices were read on both pricing pages on 21 October 2026.

Does Copy.ai have a free plan?

No. Copy.ai's help center says the free plan was sunset and new users must buy a paid plan. A cancelled subscription converts to a free state where saved workflows can be viewed but not run. The closest thing to a trial is the 5-day money-back guarantee from your first purchase, which does not apply to a month in which you already used the account.

Does Jasper have a free trial?

Yes. Jasper offers a 7-day free trial of any plan on its pricing page, with all of that plan's features, but it requires a credit card and converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Jasper also honors a 7-day money-back window after a charge if you email support, and annual plans cannot be cancelled after their first 7 days.

Can a team share one Jasper Pro or Copy.ai Chat plan?

Copy.ai Chat includes 5 seats, so a team of up to five shares one subscription. Jasper Pro is limited to 1 seat according to Jasper's help center, and adding team members requires the Business plan with custom pricing. That difference makes Copy.ai far cheaper for small teams, while Jasper prices teams through a sales conversation.

Which one is better for marketing teams that need brand voice?

Jasper, if brand control is the main requirement. Pro includes 2 brand voices, 5 knowledge assets and 3 audiences, and Business makes all three unlimited and adds a style guide, SSO and admin controls. Copy.ai Chat has brand voice settings and an Infobase for context, but its deeper marketing automation sits in Workflows, which start on the Growth plan.
