QuillBot Pricing 2026: Premium Monthly, Yearly and Teams

QuillBot Premium costs $99.95 a year, which QuillBot shows as $8.33 a month billed annually. The same plan is $39.95 every three months or $19.95 month to month, and the Free plan stays at $0. Team seats run from $89.95 down to $69.95 a seat per year depending on head count. Prices verified on QuillBot's own pages, October 2026 (read October 18).

Pay yearly or pay for one short stretch, nothing in between. A year on monthly billing costs $239.40, more than double the annual charge, and the quarterly plan only wins for a project that ends inside six months. This page breaks down the free limits, the billing math for a semester or a full year, the seat bands on the Team plan, the student discount, the iPhone app prices, and how the bill compares with Grammarly and Wordtune.

Toolradar data: the grammar and style ranking on Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracked 15 tools on October 17, 2026, and 9 of them have a free plan, so a paid QuillBot seat competes with plenty of $0 options. The wider AI writing ranking covers 139 tools. QuillBot's product record is on its Toolradar page.

How much does QuillBot Premium cost in 2026?

QuillBot sells one individual paid plan, Premium, at three billing lengths. The features do not change between them; only the commitment does, and the price gap is wide. QuillBot labels the annual option "58% off", and the arithmetic holds: paying for the year upfront cuts the effective monthly cost by more than half, which is the whole case for committing.

Here is what each cycle costs if you keep paying for twelve months:

  • Monthly: twelve monthly charges add up to $239.40.
  • Quarterly: four charges of $39.95 add up to $159.80.
  • Yearly: one charge at the annual price in the table above.

The monthly route costs $139.45 more over a year than paying upfront, and the quarterly route costs $59.85 more. Those are the two numbers to keep in mind before clicking the cheapest-looking button at checkout, because the monthly figure is the smallest charge on the screen and the largest bill over time.

QuillBot also lets subscribers pause Premium and use it only when needed, according to its pricing FAQ. That feature matters more than the discount for anyone whose writing comes in bursts, such as students between terms or freelancers between contracts, because it avoids paying for months when the tool sits idle.

What does QuillBot Free include, and where does it stop?

The free plan is a real tool, not a demo. It paraphrases up to 100 words at a time in the Standard and Fluency modes, fixes basic grammar errors, summarizes up to 1,200 words, humanizes up to 100 words with limited usage, and gives limited access to the AI detector. It also includes 10 MB of document storage in QuillBot Flow, against 100 MB on Premium.

The ceilings show up fast in real work. A 100-word paraphrase cap is about one paragraph, so rewriting a 1,500-word essay section means fifteen separate passes. Free gets only limited plagiarism scans, while Premium includes 25,000 words of plagiarism checks a month. Free users also miss seven of the nine built-in paraphrasing modes, so anyone who needs a specific register for school or work will feel the gap quickly.

One inconsistency to know about: QuillBot's Premium page lists the free paraphraser at 100 words, while its Team plan page lists 125 words. Plan for the lower figure. If you only need occasional fixes, our best free AI grammar checkers guide puts QuillBot Free next to the other no-cost options, and best free AI summarizers covers the summarizing side.

Which billing cycle fits how long you need it?

The right cycle depends on how many months of real use you expect, and the break points are sharper than they look. Three common cases, computed from QuillBot's listed prices:

How long you need it Monthly billing Quarterly billing Cheapest
One month (a single deadline) One monthly charge One quarter Monthly
Four months (one semester) $79.80 $79.90 (two quarters) Monthly, by 10 cents
Nine months (a school year) $179.55 $119.85 (three quarters) Yearly, at one annual charge

The semester case is a near tie, so monthly billing with a calendar reminder to cancel is as good as quarterly. Once a third quarter enters the picture, the yearly plan is cheaper, which means anyone who expects to use Premium for more than six months should buy the year outright. A student who knows the tool will be open every week from September to June should treat the annual charge as the default.

The QuillBot review on this site weighs the features against these prices. For essay-heavy users, AI for writing essays shows where a paraphraser fits next to a chatbot and a citation tool.

QuillBot Team pricing: how the seat bands work

The Team plan is Premium for a group, billed yearly from one account. It needs at least two seats and discounts by band: 10% off for 2 to 10 seats, 20% off for 11 to 50, and 30% off from 51 seats. On top of every Premium feature, Team adds a team style guide and dictionary, an admin panel with usage reports, a writer management dashboard, data controls and centralized billing. QuillBot's Premium page also lists priority assistance and account management support for Team.

The band structure creates an odd result at each boundary. Using the per-seat rate QuillBot lists for each band:

Seats Band Yearly total
5 2 to 10 seats $449.75
10 2 to 10 seats $899.50
11 11 to 50 seats $879.45
50 11 to 50 seats $3,997.50
51 51+ seats $3,567.45

Eleven seats cost $20.05 less than ten, and 51 seats cost $430.05 less than 50. A team sitting at 9 or 10 writers should price an eleventh seat before renewal, because the extra person comes with a lower bill. A group of 45 to 50 should do the same check against 51.

For a five-person team, the Team plan costs $449.75 a year against $720 for five annual Grammarly Pro seats. That $270.25 gap is real money for a small content or support team, but the two seats do not buy the same product. Our Grammarly pricing page lists what each Grammarly seat includes, so compare features before you compare totals.

Is there a QuillBot student discount?

Yes, through StudentBeans. QuillBot's offer page there promises up to an additional 25% off Premium subscriptions for verified students, on top of the regular plan price. At the full 25%, the yearly plan would come to about $74.96, or roughly $6.25 a month. The "up to" matters: check the price shown at checkout before you count on the full cut.

QuillBot also runs periodic sales and accepts discount codes at checkout, per its help center. The help article warns that some codes apply only to certain plan types, expire, or do not apply to renewals, so a discounted first year can renew at the full annual price. Put the renewal date in your calendar.

Do QuillBot prices differ in the iPhone app?

Yes. The iOS app's App Store listing shows a Monthly Plan at $19.99, an Annual Plan at $99.99 and a Semi-Annual Plan at $79.99, read October 18, 2026. Those are 4 cents above the web prices on monthly and annual, and the six-month app plan sits close to two web quarters at $79.90. The difference is small, but buying on the web gives you the three-month option, which the app's plan list does not include, and keeps the plan under QuillBot's own billing rather than Apple's.

QuillBot vs Grammarly vs Wordtune on price

QuillBot sits in the middle of the three on price. Grammarly charges more per seat, while Wordtune charges less and caps daily rewrites on its cheaper plan, so the right pick depends on which job you are paying for.

Tool and plan Monthly billing Yearly billing Cost over 12 months (yearly) Main limit
QuillBot Premium $19.95 $8.33/mo $99.95 Plagiarism checks capped at 25,000 words a month
Grammarly Pro $30/member $12/member/mo $144 Highest seat price of the three
Wordtune Advanced $6.99 $4.89/mo $58.68 30 rewrites a day, 15 summaries a month
Wordtune Unlimited $9.99 $6.99/mo $83.88 No rewrite cap

Wordtune Unlimited is the cheaper pick for pure rewriting, at $16.07 a year less than QuillBot Premium. QuillBot earns its higher price with the plagiarism checker, the AI detector, the humanizer and nine paraphrasing modes in one subscription, which matter to students more than to someone polishing emails. Buyers who care most about correction should read the full matchup in Grammarly vs QuillBot, and Grammarly's review covers its plans.

Hidden costs and limits worth knowing

The sticker price is clear, but a few details change what you actually pay or get:

  • "Full access" is not a word count. The Premium page lists paraphrasing and humanizing as "Full access" and AI chat as "Higher usage", while image generation stays "Access with usage limits". Heavy chat or image users should not read Premium as unlimited.
  • The plagiarism cap is monthly. A 10,000-word thesis checked in three drafts uses 30,000 words, more than one month of Premium allowance.
  • Monthly billing is the default trap. The smallest charge at checkout becomes the largest bill over a year, more than double the annual price.
  • Promotional prices can end at renewal, per QuillBot's discount-code note above.
  • Team seats are listed with yearly billing only. Every band on the Team page is billed every 12 months, so a team cannot trial the admin features month to month.

If detection or humanizing is the main reason you are paying, compare the dedicated tools first in best AI detectors and best AI humanizers, since a single-purpose tool may fit that one job better.

Is QuillBot Premium worth the money?

For a student or researcher who paraphrases, summarizes and checks for plagiarism every week, yes: the annual plan puts a paraphraser, summarizer, plagiarism checker and humanizer in one subscription, and the 100-word free cap is too tight for sustained work. For a small team of 2 to 10 writers who need a shared style guide, the Team plan's 2-to-10 band costs less per seat than a single annual Premium plan.

Skip Premium if you only fix typos in emails, because the free grammar checker covers that, or if you want rewrites alone, where Wordtune Unlimited costs less. Skip the monthly plan unless the project truly ends within four months. And if correcting text as you type is the real need, compare Grammarly's plans first, because QuillBot is built around rewriting rather than correction.
