Adobe Firefly costs $9.99 a month on Standard, $19.99 on Pro, $49.99 on Pro Plus and $199.99 on Premium, month to month, before tax, per Adobe's plans page and offer data checked on 18 October 2026. The plans include 2,000, 4,000, 10,000 and 50,000 generative credits a month. A free plan with daily generations sits below them, and standard image features stay unlimited on every paid plan.
Most buyers should start on Pro, not Standard. It costs $10 more, doubles the credits, and adds Adobe Express Premium and full Photoshop on web and mobile, which a designer would otherwise pay for separately. Standard is for someone who only wants Firefly itself, and Premium is for someone who generates video every day.

Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, evaluated 171 AI image generation tools for its ranking, updated 15 October 2026. Adobe Firefly is the most-listed alternative in that category, named as an alternative to 98 other tools, so it is the product most buyers in this space end up weighing.
What a generative credit buys
Firefly runs two kinds of features. Standard image features, such as Generative Fill, are unlimited on every paid plan and do not draw down credits. Premium features, such as Text to Video, Generate Speech, sound effects, music and audio translation, spend credits, and so do the partner models Adobe hosts from Google, OpenAI, Flux and others.
Adobe's plans page translates each credit allowance into output. These are its own "up to" figures:
| Monthly allowance | Standard | Pro | Pro Plus | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5-second videos | Up to 20 | Up to 40 | Up to 100 | Unlimited Firefly Video Model |
| Audio and video translation | Up to 6 minutes | Up to 13 minutes | Up to 33 minutes | Up to 166 minutes |
| Sound effects | Up to 200 | Up to 400 | Up to 1,000 | Up to 5,000 |
| Music | Up to 100 minutes | Up to 200 minutes | Up to 500 minutes | Up to 2,500 minutes |
Our math on those figures: the first three plans all allow one 5-second clip per 100 credits, so a clip costs about $0.50 on Standard, Pro and Pro Plus alike. Per 1,000 credits, Standard, Pro and Pro Plus all work out to about $5, and Premium to about $4. The extra money on Pro and Pro Plus buys more credits and apps, not cheaper credits; only Premium lowers the unit rate.
The per-plan figures are maximums for one activity, not a menu you can stack. A Standard subscriber who makes 20 clips has spent the month's credits and cannot also generate 200 sound effects.
Firefly Standard: the cheapest paid entry
Standard gives Firefly on web and mobile, Adobe Fonts and 2,000 credits, and access to the partner models. For a marketer who mostly needs images, it is enough, because image generation with Adobe's standard features never spends credits.
It suits someone who already pays for Photoshop through Creative Cloud and only wants a bigger Firefly allowance on top. It does not suit anyone planning regular video: 20 five-second clips is under two minutes of footage a month, before any rejected takes.
Firefly Pro: the plan most creators should pick
Pro doubles the credits to 4,000 and adds two apps: Adobe Express Premium and Photoshop on web and mobile with full access. For a social media designer who needs templates, quick edits and some generated video, the app bundle is the reason to pay twice the Standard price.
The limit is still video. Forty clips a month suits a creator who posts a few generated shots a week. A team producing daily short-form video will run out mid-month and should price Pro Plus or a credit pack instead.
Pro Plus and Premium: for video at volume
Pro Plus gives 10,000 credits, the same apps as Pro, and room for about 100 short clips or 500 minutes of music. Its plan card also advertises unlimited generations on all image models at 1K and 2K resolution, which Adobe's help center lists as a special offer, so confirm its end date before committing to it.
Premium gives 50,000 credits and unlimited access to the Firefly Video Model in Generate Video, plus 166 minutes of translation and 5,000 sound effects. A studio that makes video every working day is the buyer: once Adobe's own model is unlimited, the credits go to partner models, audio and translation.
Adobe has run first-year discounts on these two top plans, so check Adobe's plans page for any current offer before paying the list price.
Is there a free Adobe Firefly plan?
Yes. Adobe's plans page lists a free plan with free daily generations across image, video and audio, and Standard, Pro and Pro Plus can be started as a free trial; Premium is sold without one. Free is enough to judge whether Firefly's output suits your work before paying, but its daily limits rule it out for client production.
What happens when you run out of credits
Credits reset monthly on your billing date and do not roll over, so a quiet month cannot bank credits for a launch. When the credits run out, standard generative features stay unlimited; only premium features and partner models stop until the reset.
Adobe sells add-on credit plans as monthly subscriptions on its generative credits page:
| Add-on credits | Price |
|---|---|
| 2,000 a month | $9.99/mo |
| 7,000 a month | $29.99/mo |
| 10,000 a month | $49.99/mo |
| 50,000 a month | $199.99/mo |
The 7,000-credit pack is the odd one out at about $4.28 per 1,000 credits, cheaper per credit than Standard, Pro or Pro Plus. A Pro subscriber who keeps running short gets more video from Pro plus that pack, 11,000 credits for $49.98, than from Pro Plus's 10,000 for a cent more, but loses the image-model offer Pro Plus advertises.
Which Firefly plan should you buy?
- Standard if you want Firefly alone, mostly for images, and already have your design apps.
- Pro if you want Express Premium and Photoshop on web and mobile, plus a few clips a week. It is the default pick.
- Pro Plus if you make video, voice or music weekly and want 10,000 credits in one bill.
- Premium if video is the job and you would otherwise buy several credit packs a month.

How we checked these prices
Louis Corneloup, founder of Dupple and Toolradar, wrote this page from Adobe's Firefly plans page, its US offer data and the generative credits page, read on 18 October 2026. Prices are Adobe's month-to-month US list prices before tax. Cost per clip and per 1,000 credits divide each plan price by Adobe's own allowance figures. AIpresso runs no test lab, so nothing here is a hands-on result. Editorial rules are on the AIpresso about page.
FAQ
How much does Adobe Firefly cost in 2026?
Adobe Firefly Standard costs $9.99 a month with 2,000 generative credits, Pro costs $19.99 with 4,000, Pro Plus costs $49.99 with 10,000, and Premium costs $199.99 with 50,000, month to month before tax, per Adobe's plans page on 18 October 2026. A free plan with daily generations is also available.
Is Adobe Firefly free?
Partly. Firefly has a free plan with free daily generations across image, video and audio, and Standard, Pro and Pro Plus offer a free trial. On paid plans, standard image features such as Generative Fill are unlimited and do not use credits.
How many videos can I make with Firefly?
Adobe's plans page lists up to 20 five-second videos a month on Standard, 40 on Pro and 100 on Pro Plus, and unlimited use of the Firefly Video Model on Premium. Those are maximums if credits go only to video; making music or sound effects uses the same pool.
Do Firefly credits roll over?
No. Generative credits reset monthly on your billing date and do not roll over. Running out stops premium features and partner models until the reset, while standard generative features stay unlimited. Add-on credit plans start at 2,000 credits a month.
What is the difference between Firefly Standard and Pro?
Pro costs $10 more a month, gives 4,000 credits instead of 2,000, and adds Adobe Express Premium and full Photoshop on web and mobile. Standard includes Firefly on web and mobile and Adobe Fonts only. Per credit, the two plans cost about the same.
Is Firefly Premium worth the price?
Only for daily video work. Premium is the only plan with unlimited Firefly Video Model generations and the lowest cost per credit, about $4 per 1,000. A creator making fewer than 100 short clips a month pays less on Pro Plus.
