Read AI Pricing 2026: Free, Pro, Enterprise and Per-Seat Cost

Read AI pricing in 2026: Free, Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise+ per-user prices on yearly and monthly billing, the same-plan rule, and team costs worked out.

Read AI Pricing 2026: Free, Pro, Enterprise and Per-Seat Cost

Read AI costs $0 on Free, $15 per user a month on Pro billed annually ($19.75 month to month), $22.50 per user a month on Enterprise and $29.75 on Enterprise+ when billed annually, and Enterprise+ needs at least 5 licenses. Monthly billing costs about a third more on every paid plan. Those prices were checked on Read AI's plans and pricing page on 21 October 2026, in US dollars.

My take: the Pro price is not the number that decides your bill. Read AI puts every license in a workspace on the same plan, so the moment one person needs to re-watch recordings, the whole team moves up to Enterprise. Budget for the plan your most demanding user needs, not the cheapest one on the page.

Toolradar data: Read.ai is listed as an alternative to 11 other tools, joint #22 among the 171 transcription tools tracked on Read.ai's Toolradar profile as of October 2026, and 71% of those transcription tools offer a free plan. A free tier is the norm in this category, so the paid decision rests on limits, playback and team rules. Toolradar is the software directory we run.

Plan Yearly billing Monthly billing Meeting transcripts Max meeting length File uploads
Free $0 $0 5 a month 1 hour Not included
Pro $15 per user a month $19.75 per user a month Unlimited 4 hours 100 minutes a month
Enterprise $22.50 per user a month $29.75 per user a month Unlimited 4 hours 200 minutes a month
Enterprise+ (5 licenses minimum) $29.75 per user a month $39.75 per user a month Unlimited 8 hours 300 minutes a month

Every paid plan includes unlimited meeting reports, unlimited storage and workspace access. Read AI shows a 25% saving on the annual toggle, and you pay by credit card only: PayPal is not accepted.

How much does Read AI cost per user over a year?

Yearly billing saves about a quarter on every paid plan, which on a single license is worth $57 to $120 a year depending on the tier. By our arithmetic from the published rates, one Pro license costs $180 a year on annual billing against $237 paid monthly, Enterprise costs $270 against $357, and Enterprise+ costs $357 against $477.

Monthly billing makes sense for one thing: a trial month on real meetings before you commit. Read AI states that it does not offer refunds, and that you keep access until the end of the billing period if you cancel. A yearly plan you stop using is a sunk cost, so run the monthly plan for a few weeks first if your team has not used a meeting assistant before.

Free: 5 meetings a month, one-hour cap

The Free plan joins Zoom, Teams and Meet calls and produces a full Read report (summary, topics, action items, key questions and a transcript) for 5 meetings a month. It also includes unlimited enterprise search, summaries across meetings, email and messaging, the personalized meeting coach, basic integrations and the Windows, macOS, Android and iOS apps. No credit card is required.

The two limits that matter are the monthly count and the meeting length. Five transcripts covers about one recorded call a week, and Free measures meetings up to one hour, so a long workshop or planning session runs past it. Free users also cannot join a workspace, so a manager cannot add free colleagues to a team account. It is a fair way to judge summary quality on your own calls, not a way to cover a team's calendar. If you need a free note taker for regular use, our free AI note takers roundup compares plans with looser caps.

Pro: unlimited transcripts, no playback

Pro removes the transcript cap, raises the meeting length to four hours, adds priority report processing, 100 minutes of file uploads a month, and premium integrations with Notion, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Confluence, Zapier and webhooks. Storage is unlimited, unlike tools that cap recordings per seat.

What Pro does not include is audio and video playback. You get the transcript, the summary and the metrics, but you cannot re-watch the call inside Read. For people who only read their notes, that is fine, and Pro is the plan most individuals should buy. For sales or research teams who replay calls to check tone or a customer's exact words, Pro is the wrong tier, and the next section is the real starting price.

Enterprise: playback for $7.50 more per user

Enterprise adds audio and video playback, video highlights, 200 minutes of file uploads a month and premium support. Read AI labels it the most popular plan, and the gap to Pro is $7.50 per user a month on annual billing, or $90 per user a year by our arithmetic.

The same-plan rule is what makes Enterprise expensive for teams. Read AI's pricing FAQ says all licenses in a workspace have to be on the same plan, so you cannot buy Enterprise for two account managers and Pro for everyone else. In a ten-person workspace, adding playback for one person costs $900 a year, because all ten licenses move up. If only one or two people need recordings, it can be cheaper to give them a separate account outside the workspace and keep the team on Pro, at the cost of shared reporting.

Enterprise+: compliance, 5 licenses minimum

Enterprise+ adds HIPAA compliance, SAML and SCIM, domain capture, a custom data retention policy, workspace onboarding and 300 minutes of file uploads a month, and it extends recordings to eight hours. It requires at least 5 licenses, so the smallest annual commitment is $1,785 a year by our arithmetic. The card on the pricing page also points buyers to sales.

Buy it when IT or legal requires single sign-on, automated provisioning or retention rules, or when you handle patient conversations under HIPAA. For a team that wants playback and nothing else, Enterprise covers it for $7.25 less per user a month on annual billing.

What a team pays on Read AI

Per-user prices only matter multiplied by headcount, and the same-plan rule means one plan applies to everyone. The table shows yearly totals on annual billing, our arithmetic from Read AI's published rates on 21 October 2026.

Team size Pro, billed yearly Enterprise, billed yearly Enterprise+, billed yearly
1 user $180 $270 Not available (5 licenses minimum)
5 users $900 $1,350 $1,785
10 users $1,800 $2,700 $3,570
25 users $4,500 $6,750 $8,925

Large teams get a published volume discount. Read AI discounts annual license counts at 10% for 100 or more licenses, 15% for 500 or more, and 20% for 1,000 or more. A 100-license Pro workspace would cost $18,000 a year before the discount and $16,200 after it, by our arithmetic.

Read AI against Fireflies.ai

The closest comparison is Fireflies.ai, which also prices per seat with a free plan. On Fireflies' pricing page, checked on 21 October 2026, Pro is $10 per seat a month billed annually ($18 monthly), Business is $19 billed annually ($29 monthly), and Enterprise is $39 per seat on annual billing only.

Tier Read AI, billed yearly Fireflies.ai, billed yearly Storage difference
Entry paid plan Pro, $15 per user a month Pro, $10 per seat a month Read AI unlimited; Fireflies 8,000 minutes per seat
Team plan Enterprise, $22.50 per user a month Business, $19 per seat a month Both unlimited
Top plan Enterprise+, $29.75 per user a month Enterprise, $39 per seat a month Both unlimited

Fireflies is cheaper at the entry and team tiers, and Read AI is cheaper at the top. Read AI's case on price rests on unlimited storage from its first paid plan and on its cross-channel search covering email and chat as well as meetings. Fireflies' free plan stores 400 minutes per team, while Read AI's free plan limits the number of meetings instead. Our Fireflies.ai pricing guide breaks down its storage caps, and the Otter.ai pricing guide covers a third option.

Ways to pay less

  • Check your Zoom plan first. Read AI says its premium features come at no cost through Zoom's Essential Apps, which are included in Zoom One Pro, Business and Business Plus subscriptions.
  • Students and teachers have their own plans. Read AI's education pricing lists EDU at $60 a year ($5 a month) and EDU+Video at $100 a year ($8.33 a month), billed annually and requiring a .edu email address. Premium integrations and workspaces are not included.
  • Pay yearly once the tool sticks. The annual rate is about 25% lower on every paid plan.
  • Do not share one license. Read AI's FAQ says sharing an account violates its terms of service, and features break when several people use one login.
  • There is no admin-only license. The workspace owner must hold a paid license, so assign ownership to someone who uses Read rather than buying a seat for a manager who does not.

Which Read AI plan should you buy?

Stay on Free if you record one call a week and want to judge summary quality. Buy Pro yearly if you read your notes rather than re-watch calls, especially as one person or a small team. Buy Enterprise when anyone in the workspace needs playback or highlight reels, and price it for the whole team. Buy Enterprise+ only when compliance demands SSO, SCIM, HIPAA or custom retention, with at least five people.

If the per-user price feels high for what you use, the best AI meeting assistants ranking compares the field and the sales-team version focuses on CRM sync and coaching. The Read AI review covers summary quality and search rather than price, and the Fathom review, Fathom vs Fireflies and Granola pricing cover three rivals. Fireflies on Toolradar lists more alternatives.

FAQ

How much does Read AI cost in 2026?

Read AI has a free plan, then Pro at $15 per user a month billed annually or $19.75 monthly, Enterprise at $22.50 billed annually, and Enterprise+ at $29.75 billed annually with a 5-license minimum. Monthly billing costs more on every paid plan. Prices were read on Read AI's pricing page in October 2026.

Is Read AI free?

Yes. The Free plan covers 5 meeting transcripts and reports a month for meetings up to one hour, with search, summaries and basic integrations, and needs no credit card. Free users cannot join a team workspace.

What is the difference between Read AI Pro and Enterprise?

Enterprise adds audio and video playback, video highlights, 200 minutes of file uploads instead of 100, and premium support. Both include unlimited transcripts and four-hour meetings. On annual billing the difference is $90 per user a year, and every license in a workspace must be on the same plan.

Can I mix Read AI plans in one workspace?

No. Read AI's FAQ says all licenses in a workspace have to be on the same plan, so one user who needs playback moves the whole workspace to Enterprise. Each person also needs their own license, since sharing an account breaks Read AI's terms of service.

Does Read AI offer discounts?

Annual billing is about 25% cheaper than monthly on every paid plan. Teams buying annual licenses get 10% off at 100 or more, 15% at 500 or more and 20% at 1,000 or more. Students and teachers with a .edu email can buy EDU for $60 a year, and Zoom One Pro, Business and Business Plus subscribers get premium features through Zoom's Essential Apps.

Is Read AI cheaper than Fireflies.ai?

Not at the entry tier: Fireflies Pro costs $10 per seat a month billed annually, less than Read AI Pro. At the top tier Read AI is cheaper: Enterprise+ costs $9.25 less per user a month than Fireflies Enterprise on annual billing. Read AI includes unlimited storage on every paid plan, while Fireflies Pro stores 8,000 minutes per seat.
