What does Granola's free plan include?
Basic is a real product, not a timed trial. It records and transcribes without a meeting bot, captures device audio on desktop, iOS, Android and Apple Watch, tags speakers, writes AI-enhanced notes and lets you chat with your meetings. Shared folders, custom templates, recipes and multi-language support are all included, and Granola says there is no daily transcription limit.
The catch is the history window. Older notes stay stored but are hidden in the app until you upgrade, so Basic works for someone who acts on notes within a month and becomes frustrating for anyone who searches old calls. You can export a CSV of titles and summaries for your full history from settings if you decide not to pay.
Basic also limits what connects to it. Slack is the only integration, AI chat runs on Granola's automatic model choice, and the MCP connection to tools like Claude or ChatGPT only reaches your personal notes inside that same window. Pre-meeting briefs, follow-up emails and a workspace-wide dictionary are Business features.
How much does Granola Business cost?
Business is a per-user seat, and Granola bills it monthly only: annual billing is reserved for Enterprise contracts. For a solo user, that comes to $168 a year with no prepayment discount available.
The seat removes the history cap and opens the integrations that make notes useful outside Granola. You get Notion, HubSpot, Attio, Affinity and Zapier, API access, centralized billing and user management, and MCP access to both your personal and the workspace's public notes. In chat, you can pick the model yourself, including Fable 5, rather than leaving it on auto.
The weak spot is administration. Business has no SSO, no workspace-wide sharing rules and no admin control over MCP or API access, and each user manages their own transcript retention and training opt-out. A company that needs those controls has to move to Enterprise.
Mixing plans is not allowed in one workspace. If only part of a team needs Business, Granola's own advice is to keep a smaller Business workspace or split into a paid and a free workspace, and notes and folders are not shared across workspaces. That is a real cost for teams that wanted the sales team on Business and everyone else on Basic.
Discounts on Business
Accepted startups and students get 12 months of Business free, and registered nonprofits can apply for 50% off Business.
When do you need Granola Enterprise?
Enterprise starts at $35 per user a month, and it is the only plan with SSO, which Granola offers on Enterprise for teams with 50 or more users. It also adds SCIM group provisioning, HIPAA-compliant workspaces, MDM and Intune app wrapping on iOS, an audit API, workspace usage analytics, Salesforce and other advanced integrations, and dedicated support.
The control features are the main reason to buy it. Admins can enforce a workspace-wide retention and auto-deletion policy, set sharing rules, turn off model training for the whole team, control MCP, API and integration access, and enforce a notification telling other participants that Granola is in use. On Business, each of those is a per-user choice.
You can upgrade to Enterprise yourself in settings, at the listed starting price and billed monthly. Talking to sales is optional and is the path to an annual contract or custom security terms. The "from" in the price means larger deals can differ, so treat the listed price as the floor for budgeting.

What a team actually pays per year
Granola's Business plan is monthly only, so the comparison uses each rival's monthly rate to compare like with like. Totals are the published per-user monthly price times users times 12, before tax.
| Team | Granola | Fireflies, monthly billing | Fathom, monthly billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo user | Business, $168 | Pro at $18/seat, $216 | Premium at $20/user, $240 |
| 10-person team | Business, $1,680 | Pro, $2,160; Business at $29/seat, $3,480 | Team at $19/user, $2,280 |
| 60-person company that needs SSO | Enterprise at the starting rate, $25,200 | Enterprise is annual only | Enterprise is quoted by sales |
On monthly billing, Granola is the cheapest of the three at every team size we priced. The ten-person team saves $480 a year against Fireflies Pro and $600 against Fathom Team. Granola's seat also includes unlimited history, while Fireflies Pro caps storage at 8,000 minutes per seat.
Annual billing flips the result. Fireflies Pro drops to $10 per seat a month and Fathom Team to $15 per user a month when paid yearly, both below Granola's Business seat, which has no yearly discount. A team happy to prepay a year can therefore spend less elsewhere, though Fathom Team carries a two-user minimum and Fireflies Pro keeps its storage cap.
The Enterprise row is the expensive one. Sixty Granola Enterprise seats at the starting rate cost $25,200 a year, a big step from Business. A company of that size that only needs unlimited history and integrations, not SSO or HIPAA, should check whether Business covers it before signing for Enterprise.

Is Granola worth paying for in 2026?
For anyone who reviews meeting notes beyond a month, yes. The Business seat is the cheapest monthly option among the three tools priced here, it records without a bot joining the call, and the integrations and API turn notes into CRM entries or docs without copy and paste.
It is a weaker buy in two cases. A team that would prepay a year gets a lower per-seat rate from Fireflies or Fathom, because Granola offers no annual discount on Business. And a company that needs SSO pays the Enterprise rate on every seat, since there is no middle tier with single sign-on.
The product view beyond the invoice is the Granola review, with rivals covered in the Fathom review, the Fireflies.ai review and the Otter.ai review. How we checked these prices
Granola's plan prices, the feature comparison and the plan descriptions come from Granola's pricing page. Billing frequency, the Basic history rule, per-workspace billing, the Enterprise upgrade path, SSO eligibility and the startup, student and nonprofit programs come from Granola's subscriptions and billing article. Both were read on 19 October 2026.
Fireflies' monthly and annual seat prices and storage limits come from Fireflies' pricing page, and Fathom's monthly and annual prices and the two-user minimum from Fathom's pricing page, read the same day. The price rank and free-plan share come from Toolradar's October 2026 data. Yearly totals are this page's multiplication of published rates, not vendor quotes. Louis Corneloup, founder of Toolradar and Dupple, wrote the page. How products are assessed is on how we rate, corrections go through the editorial policy, and the author note is on about.
