Fathom Pricing 2026: Free Plan Limits and Paid Tiers
Fathom is free for individuals in 2026; Premium is $16/mo yearly or $20 monthly, Team $15 per user, Business $25 per user. Free plan caps and team costs.

Fathom costs $0 on Free, $16/mo on Premium billed yearly ($20 monthly), $15 per user on Team ($19 monthly) and $25 per user on Business ($34 monthly), with a 2-user minimum on both team plans. Enterprise is quote-only. The free plan is enough for one person who wants recordings, transcripts and basic summaries, read on Fathom's pricing page on 19 October 2026.
My take: Fathom's free tier is the most generous part of its price list, and the paid plans sell AI depth rather than capacity. Recording, transcription and storage are unlimited on every tier, so nobody upgrades because they ran out of minutes. People upgrade because the free plan rations the AI features that turn a transcript into work: advanced summaries, action items and follow-up emails.
Toolradar data: of the 170 transcription tools tracked on Toolradar, the software directory we run, 71% offer a free tier and the median per-user plan is $14.50/user/mo across 20 tools, as of October 2026. Fathom sits on both sides of that line: a free tier like most of the category, and a Team seat priced a whisker above the median.

Prices are in USD, per month, from Fathom's pricing page in October 2026. The page advertises "save 25%+" on annual billing, which holds for Business; the cut is 20% on Premium and about 21% on Team. Fathom shows the yearly figure as a monthly rate and does not print a yearly total.
Older reviews use different names. Fathom's help center says that in August 2025 Team Edition Standard became Team and Team Edition Pro became Business, so a guide quoting "Team Edition" prices describes plans that no longer exist under those names.
What does the Fathom free plan include?
The free plan records and transcribes every meeting with no monthly cap, keeps the recordings with no storage limit, and writes an instant AI summary after each call. Fathom's help center says the free version for individuals will always exist and keeps unlimited storage forever. It also includes clips, personal playlists, keyword search in your own calls, the Slack integration, the public API and MCP server, and the new Claude and ChatGPT integrations.
The limits sit on the AI layer, and they matter more than they look. Fathom's comparison table marks four features as limited use on Free without stating a number:
- Advanced summaries built on its 15+ meeting templates, such as BANT and Sandler.
- Ask Fathom, the chat assistant inside a single call.
- Account-wide Ask Fathom across all your calls, still in beta.
- Zapier, Make and other automation integrations.
Three things are missing entirely on Free: AI action items, AI follow-up emails and the option to hide the in-meeting banner or rename the bot. CRM syncs are available, capped at 3 users per company domain until Business.
Who the free plan suits: a freelancer, a founder or a student who wants a searchable record of calls and reads the summary afterward. Who should skip it: anyone whose job is the follow-up, such as account executives and customer success managers, because the missing action items and follow-up drafts are the hours Fathom saves.
Is Premium worth it for one person?
Premium is $16 a month on yearly billing and lifts the rationing on every AI feature in the free plan. It adds advanced summaries without limits, AI-generated action items, follow-up email drafts, a custom bot name and the option to hide the in-meeting banner. Unlimited lookback in Ask Fathom across your own calls is the quiet win: a year of meetings becomes something you can question.
Monthly billing costs $20, so a full year on the monthly plan runs $48 more than the yearly rate by our arithmetic. A sensible path is to pay monthly for the first month or two, check whether you open the action items and drafts after each call, and switch to yearly billing once you do.
If two people want Premium, look at Team first. A Team seat costs a dollar less than a Premium seat on yearly billing, and the 2-seat minimum makes the smallest Team bill $30 a month. Two Premium seats would cost $32 and give no shared call library, so any pair of colleagues should start on Team.

Team or Business: what does a 5-person team pay?
The scenario is a 5-person team recording every customer call. Costs are our arithmetic on Fathom's per-user rates, before tax, and assume all five people need a seat.
| Plan | Yearly billing, per month | Yearly billing, per year | Monthly billing, per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Team | $75 | $900 | $95 |
| Business | $125 | $1,500 | $170 |
Team covers what most small teams want: a shared library of team calls, folders, comments and mentions, trackers that flag competitor mentions or objections across future calls, and a customer view of every meeting with one company. Account-wide Ask Fathom has a limited lookback window for team calls on this plan, while your own calls stay unlimited.
Business adds the sales layer at $10 more per user on yearly billing. CRM field sync writes Fathom's insights into specific CRM fields instead of pasting notes, deal view gathers every call on a deal into one page, and coaching metrics with AI scorecards track talk patterns per rep. For a sales team that updates Salesforce or HubSpot by hand after every call, the CRM field sync alone can justify the gap. For a product or design team, Business adds little.
The yearly discount is worth the most on Business, where monthly billing costs $45 more a month for this team than yearly. Our best AI meeting assistants for sales teams ranking covers the CRM-heavy alternatives if Business feels expensive for what your team uses.
How does Fathom compare with Fireflies and Otter on price?
Fathom is not the cheapest note taker per seat, but it is the most generous free plan of the three. The table compares list prices per seat per month on yearly billing, read on each vendor's own pricing page in October 2026.
| Tool | Free plan | Entry paid seat, yearly | Business seat, yearly | Free plan catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fathom | Yes | Team $15 (2 minimum) | $25 | Advanced AI is limited use |
| Fireflies.ai | Yes | Pro $10 | $19 | 400 minutes of storage per team |
| Otter.ai | Yes | Pro $8.33 | $19.99 | 300 transcription minutes a month, 30 minutes per conversation |
On monthly billing the order holds: Fireflies Pro is $18 and Otter Pro is $16.99, both below a Fathom Team seat. Otter also runs time-limited discounts on its monthly plans, so check the current offer before buying.
The trade-off is storage and minutes. Fireflies' free tier keeps a small shared pool of recordings, and Otter's free tier caps monthly minutes and meeting length, while Fathom stores and transcribes everything on Free. A solo user who wants never to think about limits lands on Fathom; a team that wants the lowest seat price lands on Otter or Fireflies. Our Fireflies.ai pricing and Otter.ai pricing pages break down those plans, and the Fireflies vs Otter and Otter vs Granola comparisons cover fit.
Discounts and programs Fathom offers
Fathom lists three programs on its pricing page that change the bill for specific buyers:
- Startups affiliated with select VCs and accelerators can get up to 2 years of Fathom Team free through its Qualified Portfolio Program.
- Nonprofits can apply for 10 free seats.
- Teams leaving Gong or a similar tool can get Fathom Business free for the rest of their current contract, plus data migration.
The Gong offer is the one with real money behind it. A sales team locked into a conversation intelligence contract can run Business in parallel at no charge and arrive at renewal with a working replacement. Each paid plan card also offers a free trial and carries a "90 day guarantee" badge; read the terms at checkout before relying on either.
Which Fathom plan should you pick?
Stay on Free if you are one person who mainly needs a reliable recording and transcript of every call. Move to Premium once you find yourself writing follow-ups and to-dos by hand after meetings, because that is the work the paid AI does.
Pick Team for any group of two or more, since it costs less per seat than Premium and adds the shared library. Pick Business if your team lives in a CRM and wants call insights written into deal records, or if you are replacing Gong under the switch offer. Talk to sales about Enterprise only when SSO, SCIM, custom retention or a HIPAA business associate agreement is a requirement.

How we built this page
We read Fathom's pricing page and its comparison table, its help center article on plan names, and the pricing pages of Fireflies.ai and Otter.ai on 19 October 2026. The category figures come from Toolradar's transcription statistics. We did not sign up for a paid plan or record calls for this page, and the 5-person scenario is our arithmetic on the published per-user rates. We re-check the page when Fathom changes a plan, a price or a limit. Louis Corneloup, who founded Toolradar and Dupple, edited it.
FAQ
How much does Fathom cost in 2026?
Fathom is free for individuals. Premium costs $16 a month billed yearly or $20 monthly, Team $15 per user yearly or $19 monthly, and Business $25 per user yearly or $34 monthly, with a 2-user minimum on Team and Business. Enterprise is priced through sales, per Fathom's pricing page in October 2026.
Is the Fathom free plan enough?
For one person who needs recordings, transcripts and a summary of each call, yes: recording, transcription and storage are unlimited on Free. It falls short for follow-up work, because advanced summaries and Ask Fathom are limited use and AI action items and follow-up emails are not included.
Does Fathom limit recordings on the free plan?
No. Fathom's pricing table lists unlimited recordings, call storage, transcription and downloads on every plan, Free included, and its help center says free storage is unlimited forever. The free plan's limits apply to AI features, not to how many meetings you record.
Is Fathom Team cheaper than Premium?
Per seat, yes. A Team seat costs a dollar less than a Premium seat on both yearly and monthly billing. Team needs at least 2 users, so its smallest bill is $30 a month on yearly billing, and it adds a shared team call library.
What is the difference between Fathom Team and Business?
Business adds CRM field sync, deal view and coaching metrics with AI scorecards to everything in Team, for $10 more per user a month on yearly billing. It suits sales teams that log call insights in a CRM; teams that only need shared recordings and search can stay on Team.
Is Fathom cheaper than Fireflies or Otter?
Not per seat. On yearly billing, Fireflies Pro costs $10 and Otter Pro $8.33 per seat a month, both below a Fathom Team seat. Fathom's free plan is the most generous of the three, with unlimited recordings and storage, so a solo user often pays nothing on Fathom.
