Fireflies.ai Review
What each Fireflies plan includes, where the free tier stops, what AI credits pay for, a five-seat cost scenario, and how it stacks up against Fathom, Otter, Granola and Circleback, with prices read on vendor pages in October 2026.
Fireflies.ai is worth it in 2026 for teams that want the cheapest paid notetaker seat with CRM sync and transcription in 100+ languages. The free plan transcribes without limit but caps AI summaries and gives the whole team 400 minutes of storage. Pro is $10 per seat per month billed yearly ($18 monthly) and unlocks unlimited summaries, 8,000 minutes of storage per seat, video recording and every integration. Business is $19 per seat yearly ($29 monthly) with unlimited storage and conversation intelligence; Enterprise is $39 per seat, yearly only. The catches: a visible bot joins every call, AI features draw on a monthly credit pool, and the 44% annual discount is where the low price lives. Closest alternatives: Fathom, Otter.ai, Granola and Circleback.
Key factsBest for: Teams that want the cheapest paid notetaker seat with CRM…
- The price leader among bot notetakers: unlimited transcription on every plan, with storage, summaries and credits as the upsell.
- Free plan: Unlimited transcription, 400 minutes of team storage
- Entry paid seat: Pro, billed per seat, cheapest on the yearly plan
- Languages: 100+ for transcription, most in beta
- Alternatives covered: Fathom, Otter.ai, Granola, Circleback
Pros
- Pro billed yearly is the second-cheapest paid seat in this group and includes unlimited integrations.
- Transcription in 100+ languages, plus dialer, upload, desktop, mobile and Chrome extension capture.
- Business adds conversation intelligence, team analytics and unlimited storage.
Cons
- Free plan limits AI summaries and gives the whole team 400 minutes of storage.
- AI Skills, the personal assistant and voice agents draw on a monthly credit pool of 20 to 50.
- A visible bot joins every call; there is no device-capture mode on the pricing page.
Fireflies.aiFireflies.ai is the notetaker that wins on the price column of the comparison table. A paid seat that works out to $120 a year with CRM logging, Slack delivery and transcription in 100+ languages is hard to beat, and that is why it keeps landing on sales teams' shortlists.
The free plan is the weak spot, and the annual commitment is the condition.
This review is for small teams and sales or support managers weighing Fireflies against Fathom, Otter, Granola and Circleback, and for solo users trying to work out whether the free tier is enough.
Every figure was checked on Fireflies' pricing page on October 17, 2026, and the rival prices on their own pricing pages the same day. No lab test here: the verdicts rest on what the vendors publish.
Toolradar data: Fireflies' entry paid plan ranks #7 of 20 (joint) for price among the transcription tools with a verified per-user entry price in Toolradar, the software directory we run, where the median entry price is $14.50 per user per month (October 2026).
The same directory places Fireflies #10 in its ranking of 169 transcription tools, which is the honest picture: a price leader, not the overall leader.
What is Fireflies.ai?
Fireflies.ai is an AI meeting assistant that sends a bot into Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex calls, transcribes them, writes summaries and pushes the output into the rest of your stack.
It also takes audio and video uploads, connects to the Aircall and RingCentral dialers, and ships desktop, Android and iOS apps plus a Chrome extension. The vendor says it is used across 1 million+ companies and lists SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA on its site.
The free plan is a real transcription tool and a limited summarizer. The plan cards give Free unlimited transcription (with an asterisk the page does not expand), limited AI summaries, 400 minutes of storage for the whole team, 20 AI credits, meeting search, AskFred (the AI assistant), file uploads and API access.
Storage is the trap: 400 minutes is six or seven hour-long meetings before old recordings have to go. A solo user who wants an archive will outgrow it in a month.
Pro is where the product fills out. It adds unlimited AI summaries, 8,000 minutes of storage per seat, video recording, downloads of transcripts, summaries and recordings, a personal assistant, an email assistant, AI Skills, voice agents, an action-items manager and unlimited integrations, still with 20 AI credits.
Business lifts storage to unlimited, raises credits to 30, and adds multi-language mode, conversation intelligence, team analytics for admins, public meeting access and user groups.
Enterprise, sold yearly only, raises credits to 50 and brings a rules engine, SSO and SCIM, audit logs, HIPAA compliance, private storage, custom data retention, a transcript-plus-summary-only mode and a super admin role.
Two facts to settle before buying. AI credits are a separate meter from transcription. The pricing page says AI skills, the personal assistant and voice agents require credits, so a team that leans on those features can hit the monthly pool even on an unlimited-transcription plan.
And every tier is built around a bot that joins the call; the pricing page lists no device-capture mode, which matters if your customers flinch at a notetaker in the participant list.
How Fireflies.ai works
Connect a calendar and the Fireflies bot joins scheduled meetings, or use the Chrome extension and desktop app for ad-hoc calls. Transcripts build live with real-time notes, which the free plan includes.
After the call, the summary lands in your inbox and, on Pro and above, in whichever of the integrations you connected: Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Asana, Trello, Notion, Greenhouse, Lever, BambooHR and the rest of a list the vendor counts past 100 apps.
AskFred is the chat layer. Ask it what was promised in last week's calls or which customer mentioned a competitor, and it answers from the transcript archive. Meeting search covers keywords, speakers and topics.
On Business, conversation intelligence adds talk-time analytics, topic trackers and admin dashboards that show who on the team is following the playbook. That is the point at which Fireflies becomes a light sales-coaching tool rather than a notetaker, and it is the reason Business exists.
The AI Skills library, 200+ ready-made tasks like drafting follow-ups or extracting objections, runs on credits.
Credits reset monthly and do not scale with seats on the pricing cards, so a heavy user burns the pool faster than a casual one. The pricing page does not publish a per-task credit cost, so ask sales for the rate before you plan a workflow around voice agents or the personal assistant.
Two practical limits. Storage on Pro is 8,000 minutes per seat, which is generous for most people but finite for someone recording six hours a day. And the bot announces itself, which is the right default in two-party consent states but means you need a policy for which customer calls it may join.
Granola solves that with device capture; Fathom offers a bot-free beta on Mac. Fireflies does not.
Fireflies.ai key features
Fireflies.ai pricing
Fireflies publishes four tiers on its pricing page, verified on October 17, 2026, with a toggle that shows the annual price by default. Free is free forever.
Pro is billed per seat and costs 44% less on the yearly plan than month to month, Business sits above it with the same yearly discount logic, and Enterprise is sold yearly only, with a contact-us button rather than a checkout. The table below lists each price.
Three cost scenarios, computed from those list prices. A solo consultant on Pro pays $120 a year billed yearly, or $216 if billed monthly, which is the $96 gap the annual toggle hides.
A five-seat sales team on Pro billed yearly pays $50 a month, $600 a year; the same team on Business billed yearly pays $95 a month, $1,140 a year, and the $540 difference buys unlimited storage, conversation intelligence and admin analytics.
Five seats on Enterprise cost $2,340 a year, which is the price of SSO, HIPAA and audit logs.
Against the field, Fireflies Pro is the second-cheapest paid seat. Otter Pro is $8.49 per user per month billed yearly ($16.99 monthly) but caps recording at 1,200 minutes a month and 90 minutes per meeting.
Fathom Premium is $16 per month billed yearly ($20 monthly), with Team at $15 and Business at $25 per user on a two-user minimum, and its free plan has no storage cap at all.
Granola Business is $14 per user per month and Circleback Pro is $15, both without an annual discount.
At the top end, Fireflies Business undercuts Otter Business at $19.99 yearly and Circleback Business at $25, while Fireflies Enterprise costs more per seat than Granola and Circleback Enterprise at $35.

Fireflies.ai pros and cons
What we like
- Pro billed yearly is the second-cheapest paid seat in this group and includes unlimited integrations.
- Transcription in 100+ languages, plus dialer, upload, desktop, mobile and Chrome extension capture.
- Business adds conversation intelligence, team analytics and unlimited storage.
What could be better
- Free plan limits AI summaries and gives the whole team 400 minutes of storage.
- AI Skills, the personal assistant and voice agents draw on a monthly credit pool of 20 to 50.
- A visible bot joins every call; there is no device-capture mode on the pricing page.
Who Fireflies.ai is for
Fireflies is the right pick for a team that will commit to a year and wants the lowest seat price with CRM logging. Sales teams on HubSpot or Salesforce, support teams on Aircall or RingCentral, and multilingual companies that need more than Otter's six languages get the most from Pro.
Business earns its higher seat price once a manager wants talk-time analytics and topic trackers across the team; see the AI meeting assistants ranking for how it compares with dedicated coaching tools.
Solo users should look hard at the free plan before paying. Unlimited transcription with AskFred and search at $0 is generous, but 400 minutes of storage and limited summaries mean the archive empties fast.
A freelancer who wants a permanent record of every call will be on Pro within weeks, and at that point Fathom, whose free plan stores unlimited recordings, deserves the comparison. Our best free AI note-takers list ranks the no-cost tiers side by side.
It is a weaker fit in three cases. If you refuse a bot in the participant list, Granola captures on your device and Fireflies has no equivalent. If you want live words on screen during the call, Otter still does that better.
And if you plan to lean on AI Skills, voice agents or the personal assistant, the 20-credit pool on Pro is the limit you will feel first, not transcription.

The bottom line
Fireflies.ai is the notetaker to buy when price per seat decides and you can commit to a year. Pro delivers unlimited transcription and summaries, 8,000 minutes of storage, video recording and every integration for less than any rival except Otter, and Otter caps minutes where Fireflies does not. Multilingual teams and HubSpot or Salesforce users get the most out of it.
Do not buy it for the free plan or for bot-free capture. The free tier's 400 minutes of team storage and limited summaries make it a trial, not a home; Fathom's free plan is the better permanent $0 option. Anyone who refuses a bot should go to Granola.
Anyone who wants monthly billing at the list price should look at Circleback, because Fireflies' yearly plan is up to 44% cheaper than its monthly one. Business is worth the step up only when a manager wants analytics and trackers across the team.
Methodology: plan contents and prices were checked on Fireflies' pricing page and on the pricing pages of Fathom, Otter.ai, Granola and Circleback on October 17, 2026; the Toolradar figures come from its Fireflies profile and its transcription ranking dated October 2026.
We run no test lab and award no star rating; verdicts rest on the published plan cards and the computed cost scenarios above.
