Writesonic Pricing 2026: Plans for AI Search Visibility
Writesonic costs $79 a month on Starter billed yearly, or $99 monthly, up to $399 for Growth. What each AI visibility plan tracks, extra seats and cheaper options.

Writesonic costs $79 a month on its Starter plan billed yearly, or $99 billed monthly. Basic is $199 a month yearly or $249 monthly, Growth $399 or $499, and Enterprise is custom. Every self-serve plan has a free trial with no credit card. Prices read on Writesonic's pricing page on October 21, 2026.
Our view: Writesonic is no longer priced as an AI writer. The plans are sold by how many prompts it tracks across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with articles and site audits bundled in. If you only want an AI to draft blog posts, this is a monitoring budget, not a writing one.
Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 140 AI writing tools as of October 20, 2026, and the median cheapest paid plan among the 48 that publish a price is $18.50 a month. Writesonic's monthly Starter price is more than five times that median, which tells you it now competes with AI visibility trackers rather than writing apps. Its directory record is on Toolradar's Writesonic profile.

The yearly column is what the pricing page shows first, under a toggle that says annual billing saves 20%. The monthly list prices appear on Writesonic's own affiliate program page, which prints each plan as a monthly and yearly pair. Starter, Basic and Growth track ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews; only Enterprise covers all 9 AI platforms Writesonic supports.
What each plan includes
Starter is a single-brand tracker for one person. It covers 50 prompts with 50 answers tracked daily, 15 AI articles a month, 10 site audits of up to 100 pages each and one writing style. It includes ads monitoring across ChatGPT and Google AI, AI bot analytics and the WordPress and Google Search Console integrations. You get 10 trial runs of the agentic workflows, one project, and no way to add a second user.
Basic is the plan the price ladder is built around. It doubles the prompts to 100 but tracks 300 answers a day, six times Starter's answer count, and adds 25 articles, 20 audits of up to 1,200 pages and 5 writing styles. Two users are included, with up to 3 more at $50 per user per month, and you get 5 one-time runs of AI search volume data.
Growth is where the "act on it" tools start. It tracks 200 prompts and 600 answers a day and adds sentiment analysis, prompt diversification and a trial of the Action Center with 5 off-page and 5 on-page actions a month. It includes 50 articles, 50 audits of up to 2,500 pages, 10 writing styles, 3 users and 2 projects, plus priority email support.
Enterprise unlocks everything the self-serve plans hold back: all 9 AI platforms, the full Action Center, Brand Explorer, Prompt Explorer, alerts, shopping and agentic commerce tracking, GA4 and Looker Studio, SSO and a dedicated AI search strategist. It has no listed price.
Monthly or yearly: what the discount is worth
Yearly billing saves the same 20% on every plan, which Writesonic prints as $240, $600 and $1,200 a year. On our arithmetic, a year of Starter costs $948 billed yearly against $1,188 billed monthly. Basic comes to $2,388 against $2,988, and Growth to $4,788 against $5,988.
The trade-off is commitment. Yearly billing locks in twelve months of a product category that is still settling, and the Starter plan in particular tracks only three AI platforms. A team testing whether AI visibility tracking changes anything should run the free trial, then pay monthly for a quarter before committing to the yearly price.
What a tracked prompt costs
Per prompt, the three plans cost about the same on yearly billing: $1.58 a month on Starter, $1.99 on Basic and $2.00 on Growth, our arithmetic on the listed prices and prompt counts. The difference is in answers. Basic tracks 300 answers a day, so each tracked answer costs about $0.66 a month, against $1.58 on Starter.
That makes Starter the weakest value on the ladder. It suits a founder who wants to see a handful of prompts on one platform, not a marketer reporting on share of voice. If the budget stretches to Basic, the same money per prompt buys six times as many answers and a second seat.
Extra seats and articles
Seats are the hidden line. Starter cannot add users at all. Basic allows up to 3 extra users and Growth up to 2, both at $50 per user per month, so both plans top out at five people.
For a four-person marketing team on yearly billing, Basic comes to $299 a month: the plan price plus two extra seats for $100. Growth comes to $449: the plan price plus one extra seat for $50. The team that needs sentiment analysis or the Action Center pays $150 a month more for Growth; the team that only reports visibility stays on Basic.
Articles have one add-on: Growth can buy 20 more AI articles for $100 a month, which works out to $5 an article. Starter and Basic have no article add-on, so a content-heavy team outgrows them on writing volume before it outgrows them on tracking. Writesonic also applies a fair usage policy to its plans.
Is there a free Writesonic plan?
Not on the main pricing page. Starter, Basic and Growth each come with a free trial, and the page says no credit card is needed. The trial is not a free tier: once it ends, you choose a paid plan.
A separate Chatsonic page still lists a free plan and an Individual plan at $16 a month billed annually for its AI chat tool. Its model list names older models such as GPT-4o and Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and the main pricing page does not sell it, so treat Chatsonic as a side product and confirm what you get at signup before you rely on it.
Writesonic vs other AI visibility tools on price
| Tool | Entry price | What the entry plan tracks | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|
| Writesonic Starter | See the plan table above | 50 prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, plus 15 articles | Free, no card |
| Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit | $99/mo | 25 tracked prompts, 1 domain for brand performance | None |
| Profound | Custom (Enterprise) | Tailored prompt plan, up to 9 answer engines | Free, 50 prompts for 7 days |
| Peec AI | Check the current price on Peec AI's site | 50 prompts, 3 models, unlimited users | Check Peec AI's site |
Against Semrush, Writesonic gives more for less at entry. Semrush's toolkit tracks 25 prompts at its entry price, with no free trial and a second full license for each extra user, and it adds 50 prompts for $60 a month. Writesonic Starter tracks twice the prompts for less on yearly billing and includes articles and audits. Semrush's case is integration: a team already paying for its SEO toolkit gets AI visibility in the same dashboard.
Profound sells its ongoing tracking only through sales, so a buyer who wants a listed price and a self-serve plan has Writesonic and Semrush to compare. Peec AI's three listed brand plans include unlimited users, which matters for an agency where several people need read access.
If writing is what you came for, the comparison changes. Jasper's Pro plan costs $69 a month billed monthly or $59 billed yearly for one seat, per Jasper's pricing page, and our Jasper pricing page covers what it includes. Copy.ai pricing and Jasper vs Copy.ai cover the other writing-first option.
Is Writesonic worth the price?
It depends on whether you will act on the tracking. Writesonic is worth it for a marketing team that reports AI visibility every month and wants articles and audits from the same plan, and Basic is the plan that makes the numbers add up. It is poor value for a solo writer, for whom 15 articles a month is a thin return on a monitoring plan.
The ceiling is the other limit. Sentiment analysis needs Growth, and the full Action Center, Perplexity, Claude and Copilot tracking need Enterprise at an unlisted price. A brand that must report across every answer engine should price Enterprise against Profound before signing a yearly self-serve plan.

How we built this page
We read Writesonic's pricing page, its affiliate program page for the monthly list prices, its Chatsonic page and its fair usage policy link on October 21, 2026, along with the pricing pages of Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit, Profound, Peec AI and Jasper the same day. Annual totals, per-prompt costs and team totals are our arithmetic on those listed prices. No third-party price estimate is used. Aipresso runs no test lab, so plan limits are what each vendor publishes.
FAQ
How much does Writesonic cost per month in 2026?
Starter costs $79 a month billed yearly or $99 billed monthly, Basic $199 or $249, and Growth $399 or $499. Enterprise has custom pricing. Yearly billing saves 20% on every self-serve plan.
Does Writesonic have a free plan?
No free tier on the main pricing page. Each self-serve plan starts with a free trial that needs no credit card, after which you pick a paid plan. A separate Chatsonic chat page lists a free plan, but it is not part of the AI visibility plans.
How many users does Writesonic include?
Starter includes one user and cannot add more. Basic includes two and Growth three, and both can add users at $50 per user per month, up to five people in total.
Which AI platforms does Writesonic track?
Starter, Basic and Growth track ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Enterprise covers all 9 platforms Writesonic supports, including Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Microsoft Copilot and Google AI Mode.
Is Writesonic cheaper than Semrush for AI visibility?
At entry, yes. Writesonic Starter tracks 50 prompts on yearly billing for less than Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit charges for 25 tracked prompts, and the Semrush toolkit has no free trial. Semrush makes more sense for a team already using its SEO toolkit, because visibility data then sits next to its keyword and audit reports.
Why did Writesonic's pricing change?
Writesonic now sells itself as an AI search visibility platform, so its plans are sized by tracked prompts and answers rather than by writing credits. Older per-credit or writer-style tiers quoted on other sites do not match the plans on its pricing page today.
